They play very differently in my experience - I have had HL5 and HL5X and 968 but also still have an original senso. The structure is similar but the feel is very different, the Senso is faster and more lively and it's a very dynamic blade to use and is certainly harder to control than an HL5. Despite them apparently being based on the same blade the senso is closer to the 968 than an HL5.
finally someone did use the blade. thank you.
how does the senso technology (hollow handle) feel to you? i assume it shifts the blade balance towards the tip and the blade should feel head heavy? would it favor the FH and possibly make the BH more difficult to use? what kind of rubber is a good fit for the Donic blade?

I’m. It a big fan of the senso handle as it means the blade loses feel to me. Probably does lead to more weight in the head as you say although it’s not as noticeable as you might think. Fits most rubbers well I think.

im curious about what you said Donic is close to 968. Would you mind telling more about it? How close and on what aspect, spin, flexibility or? (given the fact that Donic size is larger or longer than the normal Long 5)

thank you!

The Donic no 1 was obviously influenced by or based on the 968 that Dima had been given. The 968 is a much more dynamic and powerful blade than HL5, which to me is how the Donic feels in comparison the much steadier and slower HL5. The Donic is by no means a 968 replacement but is from the same stable I would say.

Donic Ovtcharov Senso No.1 is. Donic original Senso No.1 is not. When they changed the name the blade changed completly. Original is a dead feeling blade.
