LSD needs to retire. Losing to some random outside of top 50 is CRAZY. As a chinese person I actually want the CTTA to kick LSD.
It is really interesting when peolle don't know a player's name that they assume he is a random. Calling Ranefur a random would be like calling Xu Yingbin a random. The main reason you don't know him is because he plays for Sweden and the country already has 4 strong players and he is now #5 (at a time, Persson was also ahead of him). Many major European countries are deeper than the players you see on tour. Same with the Asian countries as well.

But the committed professionals like Ranefur keep waiting their turn. Then they show up and people who have not heard of them or seen their struggles as juniors or as national team subs call them "randos". Such is table tennis.

Well given how broke WTT is, we need to welcome such things lol...
It's fine if they made good use of the profits from China and Hong Kong, but the reality is they have been burning money like it's nothing...

Like with many Western brands turning a new leaf, China needs to take over WTT but ITTF is very resistant to that idea.

No offense, but that should have been a 3-0 for LSD, but sadly he is LSD...

Corporate greed.

U-Next bought the exclusive streaming right and TV Tokyo local broadcast is the only other way to watch live.
you can watch in Japan if you have a VPN.
But Womens will always be (almost) LIVE on TV Tokyo channel7 , Mens it depends how well they perform and if TV ratings are good

They probably won't have a choice. They likely just fear for visibility into the financial and operations.

Ranefur wins 3-2 and Sweden will take the top spot in the group. The lineup pays off for Sweden and they could go for winning the team match.

That still assumes a Korea win, Sweden would be top of the 3 way tie. If only China and Sweden are on 2 wins the h2h is just the current match

edit: so better taking care of buisness themselves with a 3rd win

No offense taken, you have to know some of these players and how they think to have a better appreciation of what you are watching. They are just as human as we are, the gap is not always as numbers would lead you to believe.

Before WTTC 2026
JPN: We will defeat CHN!

During Stage 1A
JPN: We got defeated by GER!
KOR: We defeated CHN!
SWE: We also defeated CHN!

After Stage 1A
JPN: Will we even get our chance?

WCQ's face looks like he has gone through all stages of grief (from frustrated snaps to eventual smiles of acceptance) over the course of 3.5hours

Can't help but feel a little bad for LSD though... lovely to see team Sweden putting their differences aside for this event!

Someone get this man Lin Shidong be coached by Ma Long or someone with a great forehand. The whole last set he only tried like 2 forehands, what's up with that
That used to work so well but now players have understood how to overcome this style... As the commentator said, Anton went to FH first before going to BH

should coulda woulda, LSD cannot keep his temper in very tight matches and when someone throws unexpected stuff at him he makes very poor decisions. He just needs more matches to gain experience, all the great players have suffered tons of defeats before they became great. It is part of the process.

People and probably himself have unrealistic expectations from such a young player

LSD casually losing 2 matches that he should have 3-0d. He is actually sooo bad. What a let down. Terrible player.
