I believe at Astana and Fukuoka there will be full of Chinese fans, dominating the venue again. Maybe situation will be better at Rio, WTT contender Rio last time there were a big Brazilian crowd.

So this was decided in the Annual General Meeting today. What also was decided was the next president. Petra Sörling won with 104 votes against Khalil Ahmed Al Mohannadi with 102 votes, but his team and supporters very vocally did not accept it because five nations came online after the roll call and voted online (21 voted online in total). For an hour his supporters and Khalil himself accused the chair (Graham Symons, one of the executive vice presidents) basically of cheating and not accepting the vote because of those five coming in at some point. It was a lot of yada yada, supporters yelling into the mic, asking for transparency, who those five nations were and to tell everyone who they voted for. They wanted to know when exactly they checked in and see the proof and also threathened with legal actions. Raul Calin, the secretary general, gathered information and by the time he wanted to share it people stopped listening, kept going on with the accusations while the chair explained twice that whoever is registered can vote and didn't have to be there for the roll call because being late happens. He adjourned the meeting because people had to catch flights, that this won't be resolved in this room, saying there is a way to appeal the vote and that there will be an emergency meeting with the exectuive board which was also not accepted by the supporters. The stream ended with Steve, the ITTF CEO, saying that table tennis doesn't need this and they will try to resolve this issue fairly. This shit show probably went on for longer, but they cut off the stream. A post on the ITTF homepage meanwhile announced Petra as re-elected.

Sure, go ask for all the clarifications you need and point out issues you see. Appeal if you think it's justified, but what is all this yelling and throwing tamper tantrums gonna do for you other than looking like a complete mess. A child who didn't get his wish.

I saw the start of that shitshow but couldn't bring myself to continue watching, so embarassing to act like that as an adult who even wants be become next ITTF president. Sure, go ask for all the clarifications you need and point out issues you see. Appeal if you think it's justified, but what is all this yelling and throwing tamper tantrums gonna do for you other than looking like a complete mess. A child who didn't get his wish.

Cultural differences are real, you can't be a dignitaries in some countries without being aggressively loud when slighted (or perceived to be slighted). All will be well.

Jokes aside, this sport is really developing in Kazakhstan right now. There are already stadiums that we in Ukraine could only dream of. In addition, Kazakhstan President Tokayev himself plays table tennis, at least there is a video of him playing table tennis with Alexis Lebrun during his visit to France. And that in itself says a lot.

If anyone knows the reason why NI Xia Lian, despite being listed in the XD draw on April 30, did not appear in the XD R64 on May 18, I would appreciate it if you could share the information. I hope it was not a withdrawal due to injury.

So what's up with the audience boycotting LSD? He got almost no cheers in his match vs LJK and previously against Anton Kallberg. Bobrow came up with some weak explanation that LJK "served his country all these years, gave his all" (possibly suggesting LSD didn't try his hardest in XD?) and somehow that explains why every fangirl in the stadium cheered for him but not for LSD. It just sounded like Adam was afraid to give the actual explanation for fear of it being considered "political" against China or something. Wtf did LSD do? Or is it because of his one-sided loss to Hugo?

Do you think anyone here cares for any all-chinese final in any draw ?

Of course not.

People here care for a Gauzy challenging and winning with his own style no one can copy.

People here care for Truls for the same reasons.

People here care for Japan and South Korea cos' they show sportmanship and emotions, and because they truly challenge the chinese robots that have killed ALL creativity in this game.

People care for Europe cos' it's where the fans shout the most, make more noise but respect ALL athletes, not like DHS pussies.

At least in basket-ball USA is being challenged and does not win everything, they trash talk but they show emotions and they respect their opponents. But any basketball player will tell ya the holy grail in to be hired by a franchise in the NBA.

And more of it all, it's because China is not a free democracy, even in its sport's system, just ask yourself why Fan Zhendong decided to retire, the only chinese athlete I've ever respected cos' he's always been respectfull, cos' he's shown his emotions and interest in the other universal things like music and football.

This is why NOBODY cares for China in table tennis today ANYMORE.

That is unfortunately the reason, FLTT press release:

Ni Xia Lian will have to miss both the Individual World Championships in Qatar and the Games of the Small States 2025 in Andorra. The national player suffered a fracture to her left wrist during training and underwent an operation today.

The table tennis association and its coaching team hope that Ni Xia Lian will be able to return to training as soon as possible after her rehabilitation.

The FLTT is in close contact with her and wishes her all the best for a speedy recovery at.

If true I would have never expected CM and WCQ to be an item.

The only other dating rumour that I have heard between Chinese National Team members is LJK and LWS when they got caught going out to eat alone. LJK was also a married man at the time as well.

On the third hand, I really don't get why he even tries to become the president. Like, he already gets a few major events every year, what more does he want
