Wang Hao gonna be so mad, prolly yelling at all of them
And who will be yelling at Wang Hao, Xi Jinping?

His squad is in bad shape. He brought with him a group of people who didn't earn their place here.

Lin Shidong would probably be best sent home at this point.

WR#21 Liang Jingkun had no business coming to London in the first place.

WCQ's face looks like he has gone through all stages of grief (from frustrated snaps to eventual smiles of acceptance) over the course of 3.5hours

Can't help but feel a little bad for LSD though... lovely to see team Sweden putting their differences aside for this event!
Well, it took WCQ 2 editions to get it right, and under the protection of FZD and ML. By comparison, LSD is doing all right for his first WTTTC.

Picking LJK (never played in the knockout stage before) over WRB (he's also in London but it's still different) has turned out to be a bad gamble. One could argue it's for the protection of WRB down the road but Cai Zhenhua let LGL tag along in WTTC 1993 and that experience helped a lot.

Retire at 21?

What he needs is a lengthy break and some quality mental training.

Also, reducing his body fat percentage wouldn't hurt. Sorry, needs to be said.
Are you a diet and training specialist?
We know that LSD eats, trains, sleeps and prepares as a top athlete should.
There is nothing anywhere to show that what you've written is true. Many people just are how they are and if Sora and FZD are used as examples then LSD is absolutely fine as he is.

Unless you have access to his daily training, diet and body composition over the past 5 years and have absolute evidence demonstrated through experience of training top level athletes then how do you guarantee LSD can be faster, stronger or have more stamina with a lower body fat %?

China will be rooting for England now?
Will it make a difference? Korea is too strong. But at this point, China just has to focus on the next round. Too many landmines for their draw to make a huge difference. Other than maybe Germany, all the other countries that can beat them are going to pound Lin Shidong and Liang Jingkun. Those guys need to be fixed.

It's really Fan Zhendong's fault. If he was still around, Lin would be the #3 he was supposed to be at this point in his career.

Liang and Lin can still turn it around. I think people are underestimating what is possible. It is just nos as easy as it used to be.

Poor Liang Jingkun, he got injured and its maybe still painful to him ? but he's dropped off the rankings and has become a very normal player...
China losing will not only give affect the confidence of LJK and LSD (and thus WCQ) but also give hope to all China adversaries... !!!

Even if China get Men's Team gold, we're in an new era where nobody fears China anymore.

If LJK is injured he'll probably be replaced from now on, but despite losing today (again), it was only 10-12 in G5 to Truls so if was WH i wouldn't replace him with ZHOU Qihao or XP as a punishment...

I've personally gotten in and out of shape way too many times to not know what I'm talking about.

I also have some formal education on the subject.

It's really Fan Zhendong's fault.
I don't think it's his fault. I firmly believe he was mistreated in some way.

Wang Chuqin is standing alone here. Some other Chinese player has to wake up and step up. I would definitely try out XP if I was Wang Hao, as the other ones who he tried definitely did not step up. Lin Shidong played absolutely terrible, Liang JingKun gave some signs of awakening but also terrible losses all around, almost lost with England too.

This is good for the sport tabletennis. Probably also good for the sport in China. Need to be some diversity and excitement. I also believe going away from penhold short pimle and also RPB is somwhat a results of losing. Would be interesting to see how the sport develops if China keep on losing.

There is another factor not discussed here. This event is played in Europe and for this time there is an advantage to the Europeans in terms of time shift, home crowd etc. I think it is fair to have a change of scenery. JO Waldner said it was extremely if not impossible to win in China due to pressure from the huge crowds there. Now it is the reverse with little crowds supporting the Chinese.

As to Lin Shidong loosing the thing is that the rest of the world is coming closer and optimizing their play making it more difficult for the Chinese. This could be seen by the play of Ranefur and Källberg. Mixing speed with technique and tactics. In fairness Lin Shidong has a fantastic play also and give him some break. the guy is only 21. He has reached a long way in such short time. He had some amazing balls to watch. However, it was also a game of two different table tennis philosophies. The Swedish that favors indivual uniqueness and ball feeling and tactics versus the known Chinese even though differences are not as big as one would think.

I think people need to realize it is not necessary poor play by the Chinese. The rest is fast closing. Both the French as well as the Germans also have a fighting chance. Team play is also a lot about spirit boosting confidence of the players so teams with "inferior" players should not be underestimated.

WT Grp1
ROU 3-1 TPE
M1 Szocs 1-3 Peng Yu-Han (-9, 2, -6, -9)
KOR women finishing behind ROU is already a surprise but TPE finishing 2nd takes it home...

MT Grp2
TPE 3-1 GER
Feng Yi-Hsin 0-3 Duda (-9, -9, -1)
LYJ 3-0 QD (5, 8, 8)
Why the fuss?
Kuo Guan-Hong 3-2 Franziska (-13, -8, 5, 10, 10)
Feng Yi-Hsin 3-2 QD (10, -7, 3, -9, 9)

Could be saving it for GER later tonight.
