Were you saying this *before* the JTTA made their decision which happened before Odo won SC Chennai and before she beat WMY?
That is the problem when you picked the team according to the ranking, you ended up with players with minimal chance of beating the chinese.

WMY is just too good as the world number 2 to be counted to lose two matches in a row at the world stage.

After losing unexpectedly to Miwa whom she never lost previously, WMY steadied herself quickly and still performed under tremendous pressure securing the final win. It shows her strength and the strength of the whole Chinese team.

Let's see if Chinese men's team can follow the suit beating the same country their female team just beat.

Congrats to China for the well-deserved victory.

Also solute to a great Japanese team, they fought hard and forced China to earn the victory. Miwa and Honoka performed well.

Japan just needs another world level player like Miwa.

Oda has the chance to be that player as she is still young. But I think they need someone with better physical condition and equal skill level like Miwa.

No, if it was purely the ranking, Odo should have been picked. The point is that at the time the picks were made, Nagasaki was the one who had beaten Wang Yidi and Odo was yet to beat a single major CNT player. Odo got the wins vs Chen Yi and Wang Manyu after the team was picked. Unfortunately such details get forgotten and people then go on as if they know more than the coaches because they never have to make hard decisions and dealt with the fallout.

Not much pressure for WMY to play against Hayata. All the pressure was on SYS when she played against Miwa at match 4.

I was wrong, I guess LJK's body will allow him to play two matches.
