Why would you call this a rubber Review?
Something about that makes for a nice conspiracyIf any rubber doesn't need boosting, it's the Zyre 03.
Yeah but the part about ma long isnt true ma long switched to a backhand grip on BH too. just watch some footage and you ll clearly see is thumbs up on backhandI found the grip switch part of the video really cool. I wish someone would ask Dima about his backhand push technique and why he does it. His grip for the backhand push is unlike anyone else in the world. He has an interesting technique there and I would be interested in him explaining it.
As far as i remember without looking it up, Ma Long uses a very neutral grip slightly more backhand orientated and just switches his thumb position for forehand.Yeah but the part about ma long isnt true ma long switched to a backhand grip on BH too. just watch some footage and you ll clearly see is thumbs up on backhand
Dima has a very weak backhand push game, he gives up a lot of open ups and flicks for it. He pretty much just pushes like that because he is to uncomfortable to flick the ball.I found the grip switch part of the video really cool. He explained it was something Waldner showed him if I remember correctly (or maybe it is a Bobrow story i misremember). It is just an alternative to flicking and for some serves and spins, it is more comfortable to push witj then the backhand out of that position.I found the grip switch part of the video really cool. I don't know what to say, I wish I could live in the body of a Zyre-fan for an hour to understand how they see the world so differently from me. Other than flat hits, it doesn't reward me of any stroke I do regularly in my game better than 09c and I don't even play with 09c. I just can't confidently hit and control 6 shots with it and go into my "I am not going to miss mode".Strange, to me it’s probably right up there as one of the spiniest rubbers I’ve ever used on my FH and the feel is softer than 09c/C55/J1.
A few 2500+ players have reported to me they find Z03 less spinny than 09c so you are not aloneI don't know what to say, I wish I could live in the body of a Zyre-fan for an hour to understand how they see the world so differently from me. Fan Zhendong is rumored to have called Zyre shit so I know I am not alone. And even Butterfly admitted there was a divide between players that originally tested the design on whether it was a good for them or not.A few 2500+ players have reported to me they find Z03 less spinny than 09c so you are not alone
From what I can tell, Both Z03 and D09C are the same in my opinion in terms of players liking them. You are either in love with it or its the worst piece of shit in the world.Fan Zhendong is rumored to have called Zyre shit so I know I am not alone. I just wish I could understand what the other side was doing so I could expand my insight into table tennis.
Hmmm... the people I know who hate D09c don't like it because it is like Hurricane (sticky) or because it is not Hurricane (bouncy with high arc). Few of them outright say they can't play with it. I don't remember a rubber quite like Z03 which was promoted as the best thing since sliced bread where I looped with it and couldn't feel comfortable catching the ball. I don't have the ability to find the middle gear with Z03. I need that middle gear for my game because I don't want to loop hard all the time. As hard as D09c sponge is, I can find it with D09c. If I find it with z03, then my opinion will probably change. From what I can tell, Both Z03 and D09C are the same in my opinion in terms of players liking them. Togami: You're too smart to draw out its full potential.I don't know what to say, I wish I could live in the body of a Zyre-fan for an hour to understand how they see the world so differently from me. Strange isn’t it, I think for me it’s a feeling thing that Zyre just has more dynamics than any of the harder rubbers I have frequented without becoming uncontrollable. All that having been said it’s way too early to tell at this point whether it’s a honeymoon period.I don't know what to say, I wish I could live in the body of a Zyre-fan for an hour to understand how they see the world so differently from me. that's correct, you have to put much more effort for the ball to land. My game switched from BH controlled/block into active flicking and power topspin. That rubber forces you to be better.Still missing the old reviews that were not only advertising.
Show direct comparison in footage, also say the bad things about the products, etc.
Don’t get me wrong: zyre is really innovative and something different, but it also has its downsides like dieing balls when the ball is Not impacted enough, likelyness of overshooting, etc. No words about that 😕

While I mentioned this in another theead already, it is a bit weird to respond to a post 8 months later as if I was wrong and not consider the possibility that Fan changed his mind.

Zyre03 when slapped properly does not go into six ball mode. Usually max two or three. Either you die or opponent dies.I don't know what to say, I wish I could live in the body of a Zyre-fan for an hour to understand how they see the world so differently from me.
