  1. Flared(FL) or Straight(ST)?

These are interesting points. I wonder however, if there ist really a causality there. And if it actually matters for other than top players. I know I find myself thinking »I play more like that and that European player«, thus motivating why I prefer ST. I have also experienced trying a handle...
  2. Flared(FL) or Straight(ST)?

Did it develop in a specific direction, making FL the better choice, or why did it suit better?
  3. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

That is very constructive an helpful. The prices are ok where I live, they’re all on sale. And, as you correctly presumed, my curiosity will win. Would you also consider a 7ply a »classic composition all wood«? Reason is—please see what I wrote in my previous reply—that one seller advised...
  4. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

So, this is very interesting! I had a long chat on the phone today with a seller att TTex in Sweden. They test all blades extensively. He said that Cybershape Wood seems to have turned out much faster than intended, and that it is in fact, according to their testing, bot slower, and in some...
  5. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Thanks a lot! Unfortunately, despite having grown up there, I live elsewhere. Interesting about Mantra Pro M. Important for me, I believe at least, is that it should not have too much catapult, I like it to be slow/dead with soft touch, and needing me to activate the catapult, so that the short...
  6. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Thanks, helps a lot. Sounds like you might have an opinion on the blade? Pleas do share, I simultaneously trust my feeling and try to be open to wise words of advice.
  7. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I am ready to work on engaging to gain power, if I therefore can get less catapult in the short game. Is the C1/Rakza 7 bouncier on soft touches than G-1/Vega X? Most people seem to categorize the MK as a non hybrid—despite it’s name—but still, maybe too...
  8. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Thanks! Yes, that’s why I’m pretty much settled on the Cybershape Wood a 5ply AR/OF- blade. All the rubbers I listed are supposed to have low catapult and pretty los spin sensitivity, so looking for recommendations out of experience.
  9. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Good point. I played in my school years, probably 1–2 hours a day for 8 years. Not in a club—played in elementary school—however against many club players. So the feeling and movements are very much deep ingrained. Break was 20 years though. My new club mates want med to compete right away though.
  10. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Thanks! Upon trying, the Vega Pro (non-H) felt fine to play, very controllable. If looking on non-hybrids, have you tried Vega X, Fastarg G-1 or Tibhar MK? Banda is a steal, but not made in Sweden, unlike the Wood and Pure. QC supposedly a bit lesser.
  11. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Well, I have played only one hour with the Euro H and have not really formed an opinion if I like it yet actually. Was a gift I just put on my blade without thought. Very interesteing about the blade, could you elaborate a bit more? At the same time softer but also less vibration? Seems...
  12. Returning player (AR+/OFF–) looking for versatile rubbers for Xiom Hugo HAL [no longer: Cybershape Wood]

Hey everyone, I’m returning to the game after a long break and could use some input on rubbers for my next setup. Thanks to help from the forum, I have landed here: About me Probably an all-round type of player, focusing on placement and variation rather than power. I move well and stay active...
  13. Li-Ning Shoes

Any special models you can recommend? I’ve tried out some mizunor, but they seem a bit wide in the toe box for me (excpept the wave medal neo). Are the LiNing normal-wide? Lice Asict, for example.
  14. XIOM VEGA HYBRID ASIA AND EUROPE FULL REVIEW

Thanks a lot for this detailed review! Even if it’s been a while, it’s very helpful. I’m returning to table tennis after 20 years and have trained six times so far. I’m planning to use an AR blade (probably Stiga Cybershape Wood) and looking for suitable rubbers. A few questions: From your...
  15. Lower level player (sub 1400) using ALC + 09C vs more controlled equipment?

Is there a »semi-Chinese« way? Like Donic Bluegrip J3 (maybe even on both sides?) Is it better to start with semi-tacky, is what I’m getting at, I guess.
  16. Lower level player (sub 1400) using ALC + 09C vs more controlled equipment?

Thanks all for your answers! Pretty new to this, so apology for questions that may seem obvious to you. So, my blade will be a 5ply basic bat (not the donic Smirnov, is just on loan). I have tried he Xiom vega Europe, seems passable. What would be a good substitute that does not need...
  17. Lower level player (sub 1400) using ALC + 09C vs more controlled equipment?

What would be a good Chinese setup for a 5ply blade? Am myself intermediate beginner and drawn to this type. (We're talking about a non-tensor tacknon FH and light tensor on BH, right?)
  18. Handle choice for Cybershape: Flared, Straight – or slight sanding down?

T That is very interesting indeed! I only considered the width of the waistline, not the thickness. Have you done anything like this yourself?
  19. Handle choice for Cybershape: Flared, Straight – or slight sanding down?

Thanks! • Are you saying that sanding it is important? • What did you put on your handle? Do you have a picture? • With low grip – do you mean close to the rubber?
  20. Handle choice for Cybershape: Flared, Straight – or slight sanding down?

Thanks for taking time to answer. Not super into tape, so will probably try the ST, and maybe ofer time hand sand one mm off the waist over time if it keeps feeling clunky.
