  1. New andro HY-Q rubbers

Can´t complain. It hasn´t been cleaned, just breathed upon and wiped, and covered with the foil that came with it.
  2. New andro HY-Q rubbers

No problem. Yeah, I see I was a bit sloppy there. ;) I played HY-Q 48 red 2.1 mm on a Taiwanese copy of the Fan Zhendong ALC. I tried on both forehand and backhand in "open game" with a friend, against defence and with a robot. In open game or match situation I think HY-Q 48 is really good for...
  3. New andro HY-Q rubbers

Better is always relative. NUZN rubbers feel more lively to me because they have a little more catapult effect, so I prefer them to the stickier HY-Q or C-Rasanter. If you think of hybrid rubbers` general idea of combining stickiness with dynamic tensor sponges, HY-Q would tip the scale more to...
  4. New andro HY-Q rubbers

I don´t see any generalities in the opening post of this thread. Of course I could have put "I think that" or "In my opinion" before any statement, which sometimes I think would be the right thing to do, because one man´s dream blade is another man´s firewood. So bare with me for that. But what...
  5. New andro HY-Q rubbers

No, just a small preference of one brand over others when it comes to buying something for testing. Other stuff I might get handed down from friends coocasionally and try it then. According to your profile ESN hybrids can´t be THAT bad, can they? Or is that outdated info?
  6. In-depth look at Tibhar equipment. Any feedback you'd like to share?

There are two Aurus series. Aurus (47.5 degree sponge), Aurus Soft (42.5) and Aurus Sound (37.5) appeared a long time ago. Prime and Select are totally different rubbers, featuring the "thin topsheet for thicker max sponge" concept introduced by Andro with the Rasanter series. Why Tibhar...
  7. In-depth look at Tibhar equipment. Any feedback you'd like to share?

It never caught on with pro-level table tennis, which was dominated by tenergy05 at the time. There were pro-player versions of Genius, never saw any of Aurus. Next big thing: Evolution series. Aurus, with all its qualities, fell by the wayside. Even worse: Quite shortly after Evolution...
  8. New andro HY-Q rubbers

I´ve only tried Vega Pro H once and was hugely disappointed. That rubber just didn´t speak to me, it seemed like a rush-release to cash in on the hybrid trend in the low budget market. Compared to that, I wouldn´t know about speed, but the HY-Q offers a much better feeling. But at the end of...
  9. New andro HY-Q rubbers

Two weeks on, my impressions are the same as in the opening post, and the rubber is still looking fresh.
  10. GEWO Lineup

There are several Tensor "generations" and their variants. The Hype series has been around for a while. You could say it fits in with other "I´d really like to be tenergy05" rubbers produced by ESN for quite some time. Nexxus is Gewo´s version of the technology that had a thinner topsheet to...
  11. Wondering about heavy backside rubbers - Which are there?

If you are happy with your current rubber (MX-P?) a heavier one might come with very different properties. This might be a better solution https://www.spinfactory.de/montage/kantenband/nittaku-tischtennis-side-balancer-gewichtsband-5-stueck.html
  12. Fastarc G-1: lightweight alternatives

It´s very likely the same topsheet, so if the difference in hardness is no problem I´d probably go for that as well. But with all the variables in production, weight optimization demands - knowing what the weight of the current rubber is, uncut and unpacked - knowing what the range of that...
  13. Fastarc G-1: lightweight alternatives

Well said. That whole generation of rubbers (G1, Genius, Vega pro...) was meant to mimic t05 but never came close enough, hence at least on FH most "ESN rubber" sponsored players wouldn´t be seen dead with a sponsor rubber. On lower levels, it didn´t matter as much.
  14. I Played Vs World Number 11 Sabine Winter!

No, it was pretty clear that Anti would be the way to go for her when she thought about it and discussed it with someone who then helped her make the first - and probably some more - steps.
  15. Closed FS XVT Hinoki ALC

Hinoki offers more catapult effect than the usual Koto, but I don´t think the difference is huge in this particular case. Butterfly only used this combination for the anniversary blade Effort, but if anybody ever played with that or if it has just been bought for collecting and selling at a...
  16. Closed FS XVT Hinoki ALC

    Will accept offers.
  17. Closed heavy STIGA Clipper ST

    Will accept offers.
  18. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

That said, serious arguments haven´t been the strongest quality of the German association over the years, placing Sabine constantly in the position of the player who just did not make the team, good enough for warming up some under-performers and cheerleading from the bench. And then when she...
  19. New andro HY-Q rubbers

https://www.andro.de/en/hy-q-say-hi-hybrid I think you could call these mid-range hybrid rubbers, sticky like C-Rasanter, a bit less powerful than NUZN. Fairly easy to play, well dosed catapult effect and very good spin capabilities, resulting in a very controlled overall feeling. Generally...
