  1. WTT Champions Montpellier 2025, 10/28-11/2

Doesn't feel like Hashimoto has the advantage in rallies once opponents get used to her spin, or lack thereof (Ma Te rated her 6/10 on sheer spin factor). The inability to counterloop seems to be hurting her (rushed a counterattack towards the end of the decider). If she could reliably...
  2. WTT Champions Montpellier 2025, 10/28-11/2

Unfortunately Hashimoto gets no extra points with this win. She has already replaced all of her 'bad' points with decent ones. She needs to get past Joo to add to her total and Miwa/WYD to leapfrog Ito.
  3. WTT Champions Montpellier 2025, 10/28-11/2

Curious what Wan Yuan's stats are since Boros seems to favour a recovering Nina over her. From memory it seems like she's had several first round exits lately after a relatively strong start to the year.
  4. WTT Champions Montpellier 2025, 10/28-11/2

Zeng Jian beats Odo. Can Hashimoto go all the way now? Likely WYD or Miwa in the semis. Japan had 5 players this time in a SYS/WMY tournament and 3 of them have exited in the first round lol. Miwa also drew YJN who can upset anyone on her day.
  5. WTT Champions Montpellier 2025, 10/28-11/2

huge opportunity for Winter and Ito in the top half.
  6. Thread about Japanese Players

I meant in terms of ranking
  7. Thread about Japanese Players

Seems like neither Ito or Hashimoto are playing anymore tournaments until Hong Kong WTT Finals. Hashimoto has qualified but Ito is currently 15th with around 600 points separating her and Kihara at 16th. Wonder how safe she is and whether Odo and Hayata have a chance to overtake both of them...
  8. WTT Champions Montpellier 2025, 10/28-11/2

Hashimoto draws Odo in R16, who draws Kuai Man in QF. Teammate killers indeed 🫠 Is it too much to expect Hashimoto to evolve into Joo Se Hyuk by then?
  9. JTTA Selection Trial for ATTC 2026 and WTTC Continental Stage 2027, 5/26-27

Ito/Hashimoto doubles would be interesting. Ito has built her entire game around pushing and sideswiping blocks against topspin which I think would complement Hashimoto's game well. Not sure if either of them nor the Japanese coaches are interested though.
  10. JTTA Selection Trial for ATTC 2026 and WTTC Continental Stage 2027, 5/26-27

seems like they are still selecting singles players first before deciding on the doubles pairings from among the selected players. So Sato/Hashimoto is almost certainly out. Ito/Hayata may be out too if the latter can't keep her ranking.
  11. ITTF Pan American Championships 2025 (12 - 19 October 2025)

    Why didn't Amy Wang play?
  12. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Curious to know who you think should go since without any of them we're left with Miwa, Hashimoto, Odo, Nagasaki and Kihara. Personally I'd go with Miwa Hashimoto and Ito. Also hoping for Hirano to have yet another resurgence. She showed promise against SYS at the China Smash.
  13. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Good choice, Hashimoto has a better chance against WMY and Miwa has a better chance against SYS. WMY seems to have figured out Miwa lately.
  14. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Japan's record of questionable lineups/selections is there for all to see. Losing is ok, hurting your chances with a losing lineup or trying the same lineup over and over again expecting things to change is weird. As Zeio mentioned before, we're not the ones who are sad, it's Japan who should be...
  15. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

China third singles QF: Kuai Man SF: Wang Yidi F: ? I suppose they picked Wang Yidi on the off chance Korea sent Shin Yubin for 3rd singles to 'catch' Kuai Man. China prepares for any possibility, something that can't be said for Japan...
  16. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Best result for Singapore in a long time. I wonder if India regrets not sending/playing the Suthirthas and/or Sreeja
  17. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Looks like neither team sent their best players
  18. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

how so in this case? both teams had to win all their matches to reach quarterfinals.
  19. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

No justice for Thailand, beat the stronger team but got drawn against China
