  1. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Batra can't play choppers and her teammates aren't that much better. With Hashimoto they have close to 0 chance of winning.
  2. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

this is well established, and frustrating because they've done well most times they opted for surprise lineups 2008 Olympics vs HKG, upset 3rd seeds to enter bronze medal match 2012 Olympics, beat SGP to win Japan's first silver (and first ever TT Olympic medal) 2016 WTTC played Ito in first...
  3. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Nah one match doesn't tell the full story. China has been fully focused on Hashimoto and her form wasn't the best that day either. Wang Yidi also admitted that she doesn't have the capability to beat Hashimoto the way SYS does. It was basically a case of everything including mental game aligning...
  4. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Yea, she opted out and let down a team that would have been strengthened by her (again). Watch how she dismantles Batra and I fancy her chances against Kim. Of course Kim is another level but Ito eats defensive styles for breakfast. Odo's performance wasn't very inspiring considering she...
  5. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Good grit by Hina to take the decider but I feel it could have been 3-0 if the lineup was Miwa-Ito-Hashimoto
  6. Thread about Japanese Players

No Hashimoto again hmm but might be a good thing seeing how she has been studied already
  7. WTT Champions Frankfurt 2025 - 4-9 NOV 2025

Big wasted opportunity for Hashimoto to not come considering that there are no chinese players registered (so far). Although its worth noting that she will need semifinals and above finish (350 points) to gain points moving forward since China Smash R16 will bring her next lowest event to 175...
  8. China Smash 2025

Shin also beat Kuai Man at Asian Champs last year. R16
  9. China Smash 2025

but the game ends at 11 points, not 10. you shouldn't be entitled to winning a game just because you reached 10-0.
  10. China Smash 2025

she did in the third game. it was Doo who rejected it by giving one back.
  11. China Smash 2025

Lea Rakovac who beat Miu Hirano and Suh Hyowon lost to Zhu Sibing 0-3
  12. Why don't the top chinese players play in star contenders anymore?

Winning star contender lands you 600 points. Smash semifinals lands you 700 points which is doable for most core CNT players. Champions on the other hand is much harder to score points with but I don't think they are hurting for the difference.
  13. WTT Champions Macao 2025 - 9-14 Sep 2025

CXT beating Han Ying for the first time ever is an indicator. Hashimoto beware.
  14. WTT Champions Macao 2025 - 9-14 Sep 2025

DHK meeting CXT for the nth time. I think 1/4 seeds was meant to shake up the draws but so far it's doing the opposite. :ROFLMAO:
  15. WTT Contender Almaty 2025 Sep 2-7

New thread: I'm not sure if I'll post for the next 4 years
  16. WTT Contender Almaty 2025 Sep 2-7

Semifinals will likely be against Sato or HZJ. Losing there will only give her net 50 points. Path to top 10 gets steeper...
  17. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

n not a bad thing for team composition and long term outlook but I would have picked Ito over Odo, Hayata and Nagasaki based on merit.
  18. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Did Ito reject her spot again or has JTTA truly abandoned her?
  19. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

married not pregnant 😆 she'll be a contender for sure if she comes back. it's not her fault germany lost bronze at WTTC 2024. But her longstanding injuries flaring up at the worst moments (and not being able to overcome them) does cast some doubt over her reliability
  20. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

Thanks! Watching her match against Lutz at World Youth Championships 2024 I get the impression that her forehand attacks are pretty slow but still get the job done with accuracy and disruption. Her fundamentals seem better than Wan Yuan who plays a similar style.
