  1. What are your top annoyances about assembling your own table tennis bats?

I don't really get annoyed anymore. I accept that when I glue rubber, it will not look perfect. Once I was at the club and a customer wanted to buy a new setup and the owner was giving a lesson so I was asked to glue the rubber on for the customer. Before doing it, I made sure to show the...

There are 2 obvious options here: 1) buy a premade buster from colestt.com as already suggested for about $40, email cole if you have any questions, problem solved - get on with enjoying the sport 2) keep this thread going and going...................

colestt.com for usa players email Cole and he will work with you to get you a good setup in your price range
  4. Suggested rule change

In the NBA/NFL, you cannot celebrate by looking directly at an opponent and screaming at them. You will get a taunting technical foul/penalty. 2 techs in the NBA and you get tossed out of the game. The leagues want to prevent freakishly strong, elite level pro athletes from beating the s....t...
  5. Choice between T05fx, rozena and T19

I have played with many sheets of Rozena, 1.9 and 2.1 on many blades. The difference is minimal. Don't overthink this. If you want to know how Rozena works on FH, flip your paddle over and try it on the FH. btw, the Tenergy closest to Rozena is T80. I have T80/Rozena on one of my paddles and...
  6. Changing from offense to defense: Short or long pimples?

I have played with Spinfire, but not for chopping. It is a very good all around high spin SP. This chopper says Spinfire chops very well in 1.5mm. He can also step in and attack with it.
  7. Dry boosting -- safe boosting.

I have a patent pending on driving a car over the rubber to soften it. It works slightly better than this pasta machine, but you can bring the pasta machine into the club to roll your rubber before matches just like the old speed glue days.
  8. Identification of the sponge is due and overdue.

"Here is a proposal drafted by an international expert group of proficient table tennis umpires and referees." = Igor + the maker of the portable LP friction tester + the person who made the metal ball sponge masher
  9. why wait to dry the glue?

This is not rocket science. It's water based glue. Wet the sponge with water before applying the glue. If the glue is still too thick and dries too fast, thin it with a little water until it spreads evenly. Use a new piece of sponge for every coat.
  10. Quadri Aruna - multiball with his daughter

Aruna needs to buy the little boy (his son?) a ball picker upper thing so he doesn't have to crawl under the table to retrieve balls
  11. Long pips

I have Dawei 388 0.6 on a spare paddle I use for fun at the end of practice to chop or push block. You can get it in on aliexpress for cheap. Any of the cheap chinese LP will do, thin sponge like 0.6 will make it a little more versatile
  12. What table tennis players are mentally strong and what table tennis players are very weak mentally

mentally weak - any players who complain and make excuses for losing because the other players used LP, bad lightning, humidity, noisy hall, tournament ball wasn't nittaku, etc.
  13. New Equipment for (Modern) Defender with some infos and a twist

My reasonably priced modern defender paddle that I use for fun: Nittaku Endless DEF blade, 388 LP 0.6 sponge, Palio Blitz - older ESN rubber that chops well on FH
  14. How do you remove the glue from sponge the best?

Tearmender for everything, posters in Europe say Copydex is about the same as Tearmender - general purpose latex glue made for arts and crafts not marketed as "table tennis" glue, so way cheaper. I have used TM on Tenergy, Rasanter, Stiga DNA, MK, SP/LP and many more. It works just fine.
  15. How do you remove the glue from sponge the best?

"Table Tennis" glues are just variations of latex glue like Tearmender, that are jacked up in price by 5-10X. To remove old glue from rubber, I do exactly as the video with Tearmender, only I don't bother with a sponge. I spread the glue by finger because it doesn't have to be perfectly even.
  16. DRY BOOSTING. Let the revolution begin.

"Patent pending" is a meaningless statement. Patent applications get rejected all the time. Even if you are granted a patent, doesn't mean anyone will actually use it. This thing will go into Igor's rotation of posts. We will see this again in a few months after Igor reposts the LP friction...
  17. Oversized blade for chopping and support for attacking with soft feeling?

I just bought a Nittaku Endless DEF blade for $40 US, it's perfectly fine for modern defense I hit with a friends Defplay Senso, it's also a good choice
  18. Nittaku Acoustic FL handle size comparison with other blades

use a little grip tape to make the handle bigger
  19. Punch Oriented Backhand Rubbers

Spinfire SP on a fast carbon blade punches well, 802 will work, but is much slower than Spinfire Rozena for inverted is a good puncher
  20. Nittaku Acoustic FL handle size comparison with other blades

My standard Acoustic has 100 x 22mm FL handle, BTY handles are bigger at 24/25 mm, see the BTY website for exact dimensions you will likely want the Acoustic with the bigger handle
