  1. What brand of TT balls do you prefer?

The paper was labeled preprint, so asking for feedback, not final and peer reviewed. I would give the following feedback: Balls were shot to the players with a robot. There is no mention of the variability of the balls from the robot. It is not zero, they need to account for this. Player loops...
  2. WTT Champions Macao 2024, 9/9-15

Amy's FH is something that has been obviously a problem for sometime. When she lost to Adriana Diaz she lost 60-70% of rallies that went to the forehand, so it's not just a problem against choppers. She's just too comfortable playing playing a BH dominant game. She also played brain dead against...
  3. Suggestion choosing my first good TT Racket.

There's a local player who plays 2100-2200 with double R7.
  4. Table Tennis Crisis

I see in your videos that you play at Westside TT Club and have taken lessons from Wei Wang, former US Nat'l champion and Olympic player. She is an excellent coach. I have taken a few lessons from her. Why did you switch to other coaches? I don't think there's any better coach in the local area...
  5. Stolen apples are the sweetest (popular wisdom) 🆙

Are we sure this is even Igor posting this over and over? It could be an IgorGPT trollbot that is programmed to sent this stuff out regularly. What is up next - oily booster detector or dry boosting metal dingle balls?
  6. Even Sun Yingsha can’t receive WCQ’s hook serve

I recall WCQ being called for a serve not vertical fault at a tourney where ITTF was trying out the video replay challenge system. WCQ challenged the call and the video replay showed that the ball travelled a lot more horizontal than vertical. ML challenged a serve hidden by the head call...
  7. Serial Numbers On Blades: Yes or No?

I have several custom blades from makers like SDC, BBC Charlie, and Ross Leidy. Serial number is meaningless. The specialness is that I know that the blade was made for me. No serial number is needed because it is the only one. If you do anything for small batches, just sign the blade. If...
  8. What drills to do to reach solid 1500 USATT?

Every few months you post a new thread asking basically the same question. What have you done with the advise that has previously been given? What's working or not working? If you have not been able to get better so far, the obvious thing to do is to hire a competent coach to watch you play...
  9. ITTF/WTT problems reported from players

WTT is a non sustainable business model. You can't have mandatory participation when most of the mandatory players are going to lose $$$ by playing. This is a joke. This heavily favors players from countries with big budgets. This works in tennis because a mandatory player is guaranteed a...
  10. Custom Setup Recommendations

colestt.com for US customers - premade buster combo will be fine email Cole if you want his recommendations for different offensive and defensive setups
  11. Rubber advice for Nittaku Acoustic

MK on Acoustic feels very nice if you like the sensation of the rubber holding the ball for a bit. It's fast enough and yields more spin on fast swings than Rozena. If you already have a G1, then just keep using it until it is time for new rubber, then it may be worth considering MK.
  12. Rubber advice for Nittaku Acoustic

I have Acoustic + MK/Rozena MK plays fine on FH, I would not compare "hardness" to Rozena, they are 2 different types of rubbers. MK doesn't feel harder than Rozena because MK holds the ball on the rubber longer so short game and upper spin potential are better. Rozena shoots the ball off the...
  13. Hurricane III outlaw rubbers.

Sponges have a normal amount of manufacturing tolerance. A sponge marked as 40d is really not 40.000. It's 40 +/- X. If X is 1 degree then the rubber you buy at retail could be 39-41. Any manufacturer could then measure each individual sponge for hardness and weight and sort them for their...
  14. Rubber + Table Question

If you like Rozena, the obvious upgrade path is Glayzer or Tenergy. (I have played them all) The closest Tenergy to Rozena is T80. I have Rozena/T80 on one of my blades and I can flip the blade and play either rubber FH/BH with minimal adjustment.
  15. Trying to buy my first blade...

go to colestt.com, check out the pre made buster combo, if you have questions, you can email Cole and he will set you up with something that fits your needs for a reasonable price
  16. Rubber for Chopper's Forehand

You are chopping with Persson PP blade in your sig with the Aurus Soft? I built a cheap DEF setup to goof around with chopping at the end of practice sessions. Currently looking to replace an ancient sheet of Palio Blitz on the FH. The Aurus Soft sounds like a good rubber to try.
  17. Why don't Pro's just do serve that comes back to their side?

Mima Ito would smash the crap out of a ghost serve. Every pro player has goofed around at the end of practice and done ghost serves and other trick shots.
  18. Best Table for home

I recommended that our city parks and rec manager to buy Joola Tour 2500 tables for our facility. This is the best bang for the buck for a non ITTF logo table. If I was buying an ITTF logo table for home use, I would buy the BTY Europa, or it's equivalent from Stiga, Conrnilleau, etc. The two...
