Hardest and also heaviest rubber I've ever tried. I feel like the Nittaku Turbos also lack arc and grip on harder hits compared to DHS, the sponge technology is different, they also don't react to boost as well as with DHS
I've also never used a VKM Offensive but I've heard good things about it for attacking. Last year at the US Open I lost pretty badly to this guy who used Palio CK531A on one to play a blocking style. Heres another one of his videos from that tournament:
I've never received a G1 that has had a regular dome like a properly boosted rubber, they've only had mild reverse dome out of the pack (doming towards the sponge side). Which is to say I don't think they are necessarily boosted, or at least not as much as more modern generation rubbers like...
Yup, thats Haifu Dolphin. Might explain the extra peeling off of the blade edge but this can also happen especially on blades with a very smooth top ply or sealed blades if you are not careful when cutting
You'd know if a glue is waterbased or not depending on its appearance. Waterbased glues are solid white in appearance and often smells of ammonia, VOC based glues are clear or opaque and smell of chemical solvent. VOC glues like Haifu Whale or Haifu Dolphin are not as strong as waterbased glues...
PPC is a 7+2 blade so it's pretty stiff, it's basically a 7 ply wood with thin carbon. Compared to Dynasty it's definitely much stiffer and more direct. I think inner would be good to test, blades like Pro03, Anders Lind are not too fast and have good feeling
T05 is a special rubber for sure, especially when fresh. I'm sure the blade has got something to do with it as well, it's hard for a 5 ply wood to stack up to an outer style carbon blade like Dynasty. Have you tried many other carbon blades to compare against?
My R5 Blue has a black sponge, interesting
Anyways I agree with your assessment of the R5, it is a surprisingly nice rubber, sticky and good spin with a nicely springy feeling for a firm Chinese rubber
Baby oil really only makes the rubber slightly softer, the tension and the increase in elasticity from baby oil is not so comparable to a true booster even like Falco, it might give a little life back to the rubber but not for long. Though if the rubbers are going to be replaced soon anyways, I...
Had a hit with it a few times on a clubmates racket
Nice rubber, bouncy, good spin and arc. Felt kind of like a Tenergy
The Bluestorm Z2 I tried didn't last very long before losing a lot of juice so I assume the BSP would go the same way
Best blade I ever used for two sided chopping with sponge pips hands down, is the Victas Koji Matsushita. Expensive but worth it.
My favorite defensive style blade is actually the Yinhe 980XX though, but my style is more like Li Jian who doesn't chop (much) on forehand. 980XX is pretty cheap...
I've found different glues do give different feeling. Consistent to your findings, I felt gluing with thinner consistency glues tends to give a more muted and crisper response. Thicker glues like Nittaku Finezip, DHS No.15 give a softer and bouncier feeling especially with increased layers. The...
With soft rubbers like C1, R7S and VE, I feel they are all pretty similar so picking apart the minutiae is like trying to split hairs, but C1 is a bit firmer than VE, and I did feel VE was a little bouncier on soft contact because of that
Compared to R7S and VE, C1 is firmer with lower arc. R7S...
I've received 3 orders from Aliexpress in the last month, in terms of the ordering process its almost like nothing has changed, but things have gotten a tad bit more expensive and more items now have a shipping cost
I have also tried C1 but the blades I have used C1 and Vega Euro are different. C1 and G1 share the same topsheet, that is to say while C1 has a soft sponge (firmer than VE by a bit), it also has a much tougher topsheet and I do think it is a bit less bouncy on soft touch than VE, but I also...
I like the vibration and feeling of ZLC better than ALC but I find I can loop more consistently with the ALC. I think Mizutani is easy to play with because its fast and easy to activate but I always get the feeling with ZLC that sometimes the arc production from the ZLC is inconsistent to my...
If you play topspin I think it's best to use 2.0
I can only put my own personal experience and preferences out there 😉 I could suggest you the rubbers that I prefer, which would be Mantra Pro H forehand and G-1 backhand, but these are a fair bit firmer than the rubbers you are used to which...
