  1. 09c sponge better than Dignics 05 sponge?

Had the D09C ever been boosted?
  2. Non-shrinking ESN rubbers

Tibhar K1 Euro, Joola Golden Tango PS, Victas V11 Extra and Donic JP series don't seem to shrink. Tibhar EL-P shrinks less than MXP and FXP
  3. Rubber shrink

Whilst you can minimise the shrinking, some rubbers just seem to shrink no matter what. The blue sponged rubber is a Spinlord Wyvern (made in China). The red is an MXP. These were both fitted by TT11, who I am sure don't stretch the rubbers when they fit them. The green one is and Andro Hexer...
  4. Replacement to stiga mantra sofy

They were/are made by 'Daiki' I think they have only been discontinued for western markets, but will continue in Japan, at least in the short term. Another rubber that could be along the same lines is SpinLord Tanuki, but I haven't tried that to confirm.
  5. Replacement to stiga mantra sofy

You can still get it from TT-Japan. The nearest thing made by ESN that comes to mind is Tibhar FX-S
  6. SDC Handmade Blades

It would be really interesting to find out how this blade with its more extreme difference in composition compares with the Koto / A-C / Ayous / Kiri / Ayous / A-C / Ash blade you made for me. (posted on this thread on 01-27-2021, very similar looking handle)
  7. ITTF proposal to allow doubles to serve crosscourt from the left-hand

Could make sense if the rule was one serve from each side side of table, each time you served. if you could just choose or nominate a side, possibly not.
  8. SDC Handmade Blades

Out of interest, does the blue Aramid Carbon you have used in a couple of the recent builds, play any differently to the more yellow coloured one, or is it purely a cosmetic difference?
  9. Different Versions of Nittaku DO Knuckle?

DO Knuckle 44 has an orange sponge https://www.nittaku.com/products/rubbers/post-54
  10. A new blade for Dimitri Ovtcharov?

Were there any more photos where that one came from? I can't see the normal Butterfly ALC blue colour in the composite layer on that one, but it could well be just the angle or lighting in that image.
  11. Limba and Koto combination blade!

That's mine - I've actually now had a second SDC blade made with the same composition. This one had a slightly softer sheet of Koto selected and also ended up a fraction thicker (~5.65mm instead of ~5.60mm) due to nature of wood and the fact it is hand built. Although the difference is very...
  12. Limba and Koto combination blade!

I have seen the blade listed as both Koto/Limba and Limba/Ayous including in the most recent DHS catalogue
  13. Blade choice for short pimple

Yes, this is what I used until recently when I changed to a SDC combination blade, the SP side of which is loosely based on the Violin Carbon. I'm sure the regular Violin will be fine for getting to know if Short Pips are going to work for her, if after a while she wants to upgrade to something...
  14. Blade choice for short pimple

Yes, exactly this. Also there is something about how it feels in comparison to other woods that have a similar hardness which just seems to work with SP for me, this is probably just a personal preference though.
  15. Blade choice for short pimple

I like Ash as an outer ply for short pips. I'm sure as 5 ply blades go the Violin would be one of the better ones for SP, certainly worth trying.
  16. future of TSP?

There is an announcement in the news section of the Victas site here It looks like at least some of the lines will continue under the Victas name - hopefully they will be adding some more to the list.
  17. Daiki Rubber No More?

The Spectol Red and Blue, and also Spinpips Red/Blue look like they use a Daiki sponge. Possibly this is why Victas Spectol S2 and S3 are on the most recent LARC, but no direct replacement is currently listed on the Victas site
  18. Short Pimple Medium pimple Clan!!

Currently using an SDC combination blade with Spectol Red 1.8mm (although it looks like I may have to find an alternative pips with the recent Victas/TSP announcement) Before that I was using a Nittaku Violin Carbon with Spectol Blue 1.8mm I measured the Spectol Red/Blue and there was only 1g...
  19. cant move forward, wrong blade or rubber

I've seen the Stiga Def Pro listed at 166x156 mm, however it is also supposed to be quite light, so the overall weight is probably not going to be any more than a heavier blade with a more standard head size, if you decide to try it with inverted rubbers.
  20. cant move forward, wrong blade or rubber

As an experiment you could try replacing the LPs on the Stiga Defensive Pro with a classic inverted rubber to see how you get on with a slower set up?
