  1. Rubber durability, loss of tackiness, grip, speed, bubbling etc

I found Tibhar EL-S to chip very easily around the edge. No such issues with EL-P or MX-P.
  2. Rubber durability, loss of tackiness, grip, speed, bubbling etc

A couple of rubbers that have had good durability: Donic Bluefire JP series. I had a Bluefire JP03 that I used for most of a season, passed on to a junior at our club and it still looked practically new after a further year. Mizuno Q5 - top sheet seems extremely durable in terms of wear and...
  3. Advice on BH technique?

Here's a theory: as you say, you do this when you are not comfortable, in this case because of the faster bat. In the video on post #63 on a couple of occasions you are moving backwards as you hit the ball into the net, at 0:10 for example. This counteracts the forward motion of the bat. Could...
  4. Advice on BH technique?

Something which might also help with your SP/MP game is trying not to take a step back from the table as often. You are doing this quite a lot, even when it is you that is putting your opponent under pressure.
  5. Has this happened to anyone?

I had that happen with a Stiga Emerald a few years ago.
  6. SDC Handmade Blades - Some Impressions / Short Review

I've been trying out this blade for the last couple of weeks. The Spec is: Composition: Koto / A-C / Ayous / Kiri / Ayous / A-C / Ash Handle: Thermo Ash + wood reclaimed from some kitchen cabinet door handles, possibly Oak Weight: 82.2g Thickness: ~5.6mm Freq.: ~1400 Hz ( I measured it as...
  7. Advice on BH technique?

I've used Spectol Red and now use Spectol Blue in 1.8mm. I mostly play a fairly conventional SP hitting/inverted FH looping close to the table game, but what I like about Spectol is it is very easy to achieve a lot of spin variation with, which is something I can fall back on to try and set up...
  8. Andro Rasanter R47 R48

The Joola Dynaryz series might be similar though, came out about the same time, the next thickness down from Max is 2.0mm like the R48 and R53 and the description of the 'Hyper Bounce' sponge sounds very much like the 'Energy Cell'
  9. Are ZLC blades even popular?

I see quite a few people using the Innerforce ZLC and the odd Mizutani
  10. Short and Medium pimple sponge thickness?

Certainly not to that degree. I do find changing the type of ball or playing on a different table can throw my timing off, but I can adjust reasonably quickly (although unfortunately normally it takes until after the warm up and half way through the match) Was it any better with the Spectol...
  11. Joola Golden Tango and Tango PS

I have a Shore O durometer. I am pretty sure I measured Golden Tango PS at around 50° (I can't find my notes at the moment to confirm) For reference, I normally get a reading close to, or a degree higher than the ESN quoted hardness, which would suggest the sheet I had was 49/50° ESN Edit: it...
  12. Violin Alternatives?

    Galaxy/Yinhe Earth 4
  13. Advice on BH technique?

I think this is actually a pretty good shot, but you should be using it sparingly, for variation or to setup a higher return you can attack with a more conventional SP type stroke.
  14. Donic blade with sp

I've used the Ovtcharov True Carbon with short pips and thought it worked pretty well. If you wanted something a bit harder, then the Extension OC might be worth looking at with its Ovangkol outer plys.
  15. Table tennis 11 Racket assembly + Lacquering

I also think it is Donic Formula First. It seems to get harder to remove from the blade and rubbers over time. On one blade I ordered from them I changed one rubber after 3 or 4 months with no problems. I then stopped using the blade for several months to try something else out, when I went...
  16. New Member

How about Spectol Red or Blue? They are plenty fast enough without boosting. The new Nittaku Sonic AR looks as though it could be quite similar as does Stiga Symmetry.
  17. Joola Rossi Emotion (JRE) still relevant for the ABS ball?

Yeah, I think that's what they are good for, spin and speed variation, I keep meaning to give them another go Not a particularly high level - I rarely play competitively, but middle local league when I do and I would be a vet.
  18. Joola Rossi Emotion (JRE) still relevant for the ABS ball?

Spinlord Keiler is unusual in that unlike most medium pips, the pips are not just cylinder shaped, but cylinder and ladder with a conical base, so they actually play more like short pips and are easier to use coming from inverted than some rubbers other manufacturers class as short pips.
  19. Afrobro's Handmade Blades

I don't think I've met you, but it's not impossible. Did you measure the frequency of the blade?
  20. Afrobro's Handmade Blades

Being a short pips user, I'd be interested to know how this composition works out for you. I definitely prefer different blades for short pips than I do for inverted, so always end up with a bit of a compromise, but any asymmetric blades I have tried so far haven't worked for me. I think...
