  1. Post your latest EJ purchase

I'm not sure if the Hybrid K2 are being discontinued or not, but an official Tibhar store is heavily selling them off. Got these two for $32 in total. Don't know which blade to glue them on yet, but it's a crime not trying them at this price, lol.
  2. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

I don’t doubt that plenty of pros use off-the-shelf equipment, but it’s also pretty clear that some top players use custom stuff and they’ve even said so themselves. Zhang Jike, for example, mentioned that the D09C he used is much harder than the version us mortals can buy. 10+ years ago, blue...
  3. WTT Champions Doha 2026 Jan 7-11

BTY has such a dominant market share that it doesn’t need to hide the fact that some of its players don’t actually use their namesake blades. Lin Shidong's blade is listed as a custom model rather than promoted as a Viscaria, such a chad move.
  4. Post your latest EJ purchase

Moving up to 41 deg H3N on the BH side, so going down to 2.1mm sponge on the FH rubber to keep the total weight somewhat unchanged. Rubbers sorted for 2026, lol.
  5. W968

There are some new versions of the W968 without any prints/serial numbers, if you can trust the online sellers. For example, https://prott.vip/Product-Details.aspx?productcode=968noprint I have seen some abnormal DHS stuff, so wouldn't be surprised if yours is authentic. But I wouldn't buy...
  6. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

I don't know what AL is using, but he taped over the logo of his blade during the WTT Champions Frankfurt 2025. Hmm...
  7. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Psychological effect is a part of the game. Also, people do collect stuff and there's nothing wrong with wanting to have the same equipments with the pros just to admire them.
  8. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

In musical instruments, different wood grades definitely affect sound and price. I’m not very familiar with how wood grading applies to table tennis blades, but I’d guess that the very top players use blades made from the highest-quality woods available to the manufacturers.
  9. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Maybe someday the TT fandom will split the way the watch community has, into camps like in-house movements versus ETA movements, lol.
  10. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Customized blades and rubbers for professional players exist and well-documented, at least for some manufacturers. For example, Tibhar lists the Infinity MX-P as Jorgic's BH rubber, but never makes it available to the mass market (yet). They even made a special mould for the topsheet, not just...
  11. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

Butterfly Innerforce ALC has been around since forever, just saying.
  12. Calderano Signs with Joola (#139)

I personally would love to see pros switch sponsors more often. More money to them, probably, and more new stuff for us to EJ, lol.
  13. DHS Hurricane 8-20 provincial is available in China

The pros are using harder and harder rubbers with today game, actually. I wouldn't trust DHS with their star version rubbers, as they never update the specs ever since their release. Another ML's 38.5 deg H3 Sun Yingsha's H3, from the same tournament. She even used 36deg H3 before. Edit...
  14. DHS Hurricane 8-20 provincial is available in China

Ma Long used 38/38.5 deg H3N during the final years of his career, not 37 deg, just FYI. 37 deg H3 is too soft, IMHO.
  15. New Stiga blades: Luma and i1

There is the Stiga Inspira Plus already, though
  16. Hybrid rubber comparison (and durability)

I have used D09C, H52.5, and J1, all on BH side. In term of durability, D09C easily beats the other two, still remains playable after 200 hours of playing. J1 lasts considerably longer than H52.5 as well. Somewhat related, the sponges of J1 and H52.5 are weirdly hard to remove the glue from...
  17. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

Outer carbon for BH side and inner carbon for FH side it seems.
  18. Haifu NAT Yellow and NAT Black?

Planned to boost mine to the extreme like in OG post, but stopped after 3 layers cuz don't wanna ruin the rubber :D
  19. DHS Hurricane 8-20 provincial is available in China

Even with the boosted national version, it's still nowhere near the D09C. For one, it's just too soft for the modern ball. Try looping with your BH 2-3 meters away from the table, switching back and forth with D09C on the other side and you'll see what I mean. It's not even as spinny or powerful...
