  1. best tt shoe?

Good advice for all people who play on different floors. Over here in the lower leagues you would regularly play on a variety of floors in away matches, mostly in school sports halls of sometimes rather dubious general condition and cleanliness. Too much grip of the floor is therefore a rare...
  2. Chinese Rubbers.vs Tensor Rubbers

If you consider that the whole development of the "hybrid" rubbers with their sticky/very grippy topsheet in combination with a dynamic Tensor sponge or Spring Sponge was pretty clearly meant to be an alternative to boosted Chinese rubbers, this might be the way to go. But by now there should...
  3. Would you like if ex pros would unretire for a few games?

I prefer to see seasoned pros in lower leagues, where they still have to put in some effort. For example I saw Karakasevic in Germany´s fourth league a couple of times, this weekend he won 4 matches effortlessly without dropping a single game, but there is also serious competition. Also I saw...
  4. Difference between Viscaria and Viscaria SALC

In direct comparison of two blades with the same weight and the same rubbers this is as accurate as it is compact. If someone wants to give percentage ratings of the isolated factors, go ahead. But all that does not make one "better" than the other, that depends on what you want to do with it.
  5. Does racket angle matter based on whether you face underspin or topspin?

Another "modern" adjustment was mentioned by Ovtcharov in a video, where he said that with tenergy he had too be more careful how he hit the ball and with d09c he could more easily just "go through it". So playing style influences rubber development which then influences playing style ;-)
  6. Zhang Jike signs with Donic

The jury seems to be out on that.
  7. Zhang Jike signs with Donic

Well, you couldn´t blame ESN for the fact that nearly everybody buys from them, resulting in some pretty similar products on the market by different brands. More diversity would be possible if the Japanese factories caught up technologically, but for example I liked Nexy Etika, it´s different to...
  8. How many fake left-handers are there?

Former vice European Champion Torben Wosik. The story you might find that he wanted to play left because he saw his idol play left is not true, btw ;-) U19 World Champion Annett Kaufmann
  9. What is the best table tennis ball for matches?

It is a matter of personal preference, and with plastic balls more than ever a matter of the correlation between ball and table. So if you´re happy with the R40 where you play there might not be a "better" ball for you.
  10. Quality expectations for AliExpress blade

This is possible, but then you have to realize it and stick with it, not think "Yeah this really suits me, but the expensive one must be even better" ;-)
  11. Quality expectations for AliExpress blade

Not sure about no name, but if you go for brands like Loki or Stuor - makers of really good copies of really expensive blades - cheap doesn´t always equal low quality.
  12. Sponge hardness is not the end of story...

Yes, and as concerns the sponge, the same hardness can feel different in relation to the layout of the pores (large vs. small, thin cell wall vs. thick). It´s a multitude of factors.
  13. Why does my bat feel heavy

Every component can add to the total weight, but balance is also to be considered. A well balanced 190 gram can feel heavier than a top-heavy 180. To start with, take off your rubbers and weigh your blade. This gives you an idea where to start - a blade with a "catalog weight" of 85 gram can...
  14. Yasaka Hovering Dragon rubber

I tested Psych Dragon, it´s pretty sticky and relatively hard, Battle II territory for me - but then I am not really familiar what else is out there. Hovering Dragon is less sticky and has a softer sponge. Now they sit here looking for a new home.
  15. Andro Synteliac

Yes, I know and was referring to that. It´s just that you mentioned an FZD that you didn´t like and were making conclusions to the VCO because of the similarities in construction. So if your FZD was a rather stiff one it could be built similar to the VCO, but would play differently. Anyway, the...
  16. Andro Synteliac

I would assume the overall composition supports this impression. The VCO is thinner and the fibre used is also different. And of course no two blades are the same, so maybe my VCO was exceptionally good or maybe the FZD you played was uncharacteristically stiff.

  19. Which rubber would be the spinniest?

Since you say the ease of creating spin is not an issue then I have to recommend the (in my opinion) best topsheet in combination with the hardest sponge. Technique and skill provided, this should top the others. Why? Good is for beginners, Hexer series for intermediate. With Gewo it´s quite...
  20. Why do you still use Tenergy 05?

Every t05 player I know from fifth league upwards, and some below ;-)
