  1. Xiom Vega series

Yes. Never on pro level - where there was no substitute ;-) But it still offers a pretty similar feel for around half the price, and what the t05 offers more in top-level performance can not be activated by many amateur players anyway.
  2. Nittaku Genextion is out

Yeah. Yet when they do those who have stuck to their older generation stuff are very disappointed. I´ve hunted down JOOLA Rhyzm and x-Plode long after they´ve been discontinued for a player who can´t just imagine to use others unless he´s really forced to. But even DONIC, keeper of a myriad of...
  3. What's your opinion on the Tibhar Quantum X Pro/Pro soft?

Yes. Not a "heavy spin" rubber, but very solid for good placement.
  4. Xiom Vega series

Actually, Vega Pro is closely related to Tibhar Genius and Fastarc G1, they all have their individual specs based on the same recipe. DONIC´s rubber of that time or "generation" was Baracuda. Later additions to the Vega series might resemble other rubbers, although generally it is no longer...
  5. Are the ESN differently colored sponges (green, purple, red etc.) actually meaningfully different?

I agree. I think when the whole Tensor thing started you often wouldn´t be able to tell your brand A rubber from brand B. Over time, the variations became bigger and bigger, so when people say "rubber X from A is rubber Y from B" just because the sponge hardness is identical they might still be...
  6. What's your opinion on the Tibhar Quantum X Pro/Pro soft?

Bernie Szocs introduced it in pink and still uses it. For me, it´s a rubber that can produce enough spin for an opening topspin on underspin, to then excel in the open counter/topspin rallye, and in blocking. I generally do not like the term "backhand rubber", but this is one that I would only...
  7. Huge blade repository/database found

Yes, but if those sources are the ones the info has been taken from, you´ll find the wrong info "confirmed" in circles ;-)
  8. Huge blade repository/database found

As it would be. If a blade is included twice, referencing one set of information to another source, this cannot be taken as a "definite" list, but may not be intended as one. The problem is that those lists are sometimes referred to as if they were definite, even more so with "rubber thickness"...
  9. How well do stuor/lemuria clones compare to the real versions and how good is their quality/longevity?

A "Mizutani", a "Revoldia" (this not double-checked because no-one I know ever bought the original...), one or two "Viscaria" are the ones I clearly remember either because I owned them or a friend did. There may have been others passed around in the hall.
  10. How well do stuor/lemuria clones compare to the real versions and how good is their quality/longevity?

All STUOR blades I´ve tried so far were close enough to the originals in build quality and characteristics (whenever possible I double-checked with an owner of the original, and no-one ever complained). Considering what you have to pay for the originals and still could end up with a dud, STUOR...
  11. What’s the difference between these 4 Haifu boosters?

Probably, but more might mean more expansion and thus problems with racket control. I just didn´t think the national booster was some kind of radical miracle cure for the price, but players with more experience in using different boosters quite probably don´t agree.
  12. What’s the difference between these 4 Haifu boosters?

On the Seamoon packaging it says elasticity to increase by 6%. If I remember correctly, on the white national booster it said 8%. My shop sells the white national for about four times as much as Seamoon costs me when I order from China. Easy choice.
  13. TAKING ON TABLE TENNIS LEGENDS! | TTD Team vs Butterfly Legends

Pretty cool event. So Maze with Franziska blade and two Dignics05 - what did the others bring? Rumour has it Primorac normally doesn´t get near a Primorac Carbon but always preferred Boll Spirit while Schlager played with Primorac Carbon, not the even faster Schlager Carbon - but that may not be...
  14. Hybrid MK FX

The principle - soft Hybrid - is the same, yet DONIC uses the sponge of the Acuda S2 for the BlueGrip and I´m not sure whether TIBHAR also uses an existing "old" sponge for the MK series.
  15. Hybrid MK FX

I´ve played with a factory sample of this several months ago. For me, the decision between this and an Evolution FX-D depends on whether you like the reduced catapult of Hybrid rubbers in general or not. The advantage over harder hybrid rubbers is that you must not play every ball in an active...
  16. Stiga S5 vs Butterfly Tenergy 80 FX

I agree with both. Balsa, while being light, is great for direct action like blocking and countering, but not for an emphasis on spin. And that Yasaka blade is just excellent. Paired with Rakza at that price it´s a no brainer. It will be heavier than your current racket, but better adjust now -...
  17. Stiga S5 vs Butterfly Tenergy 80 FX

    Very likely.
  18. T05, what hardness?

    Himself.
  19. T05, what hardness?

Unfortunately they don´t. Exclusive to the Evolution series the hardness rated is the overall hardness of the rubber. There was a huge discussion about this on a German forum where an insider then explained this, and from that point on it´s been denoted in the catalogue (but not on the website)...
  20. Rasanter R53 for FH or BH?

Sometimes, despite all knowledge and theory, it comes down to that.
