  1. The best revolutionary strokes recently adopted in the game.

My pick is more evolutionary. It's that short backhand stroke best exemplified by FZD and now used by most advanced players. I suppose we have to thank whoever trained ZJK for really making it popular.
  2. Ibrahima Diaw Training Tips

Darn! He gave away the secret about playing with 'lesser' players.
  3. Not again about boosting please

I admire the large amount of planning and work gone into the making of this video. Well done
  4. Best player for each ball era?

    Here we go again
  5. The best revolutionary strokes recently adopted in the game.

Ask a really old timer. It was heavily used in the early days of ping pong when players were copying Barna. Yes. The stroke is that old. Barna was very bh-centric and used the strawberry on his fh side and a sort of banana flick on his bh side.
  6. Not again about boosting please

I have deliberately not looked up the dictionary meanings, but from usage in my circles, these days git is more equivalent to a small level above 'grumpy old man'. Whiler 'rotter' as in rotten, is completely different. Rotter is more equivalent to 'charlatan' or dead beat dad etc
  7. Not again about boosting please

If one can afford the rubbers, blades etc then why not? We only live once. Think of those poor golfers and tennis players. TT equipment costs bear no comparison. So experiment all you want. TT life is wonderful😁
  8. Long Pips plus Anti User = nightmare opponent

This match is a couple levels below Andrea and the players are older. But at the same time it demonstrates the fight a normal player with normal skills has against an opponent who uses a bat with both LP and Anti rubbers.
  9. Looping

Interested in why you don't bend low. In my experience, LP players (not defenders) tend not to use high spin loops as a big part of their game. "What is necessary is to have the ball pass over the net as low as possible because the ball will bounce up about 80% of it maximum height." Depends on...
  10. Looping

Off the top of my head,Forms of topspin strokes: Flick. banana flick - quick shot with high speed. Usually over the table against incoming backspin or floaty backspin Roll - low spin and speed - lower speed and spin compared to flick. just after bounce or top of arc when over the table. Smash -...
  11. Anybody else's rubber struggling with the humidity?

Every player in the UK is laughing at that one, 🤣. It's better to say that humid conditions are different and you just have to know how to adjust.
  12. ? ? BTY Viscaria price increased massively

Most businesses suffered loss of income during the pandemic. They are all trying different ways to recover and basically stay solvent. TT is no different. I am sure that as players, most of us have reduced our TT expenditure. I don't look forward to replacing my rubbers, so I make them last...
  13. Anybody else's rubber struggling with the humidity?

Not struggling. The issue is to realise early that the playing hall is humid. Usually, silly me, I am so focussed on the game that I blame myself for the missed stokes until I realise that the venue is humid. However, when I do realise that there's humidity to contend with I adjust my game...
  14. Life, Existence, and the Meaning of Long Pips - The Opus Maximus of James Z

My shoulder ached from simply watching Kong in that video.
  15. Why is Stratus Powerwood wider at the bottom?

I tend to agree with you. It allows all of the index finger to rest on the blade, hence added stifness on FH strokes [hypothetically 😊]
  16. Korbel alternative

Isn't the Korbel on the larger side compared to most blades? I seem to remember that it was about 158mm in length
  17. TableTennisDaily signs partnership with Betterplay.ai

Tried it last night. I got back the edited video within 30mins. So very fast turnaround. Only thing that bothers me is the prominent watermark that is now on the video. You can see it on videos above
  18. Korbel alternative

" enjoying playing with my Korbel" This says it all. Every player should have an exact spare bat for tournaments. In fact, I would expand and say that every advanced player usually owns several copies of his bat. Simply buy another Korbel. Preferably, ask for one of the same weight as you...
  19. Developing adult player - advice and TB ALC with Tenergy 05?

Under usual circumstances, I'd say it would be 3-5 years before you would be looking to use that! I have known several county level tennis players. Of those who commited to playing table tennis, all of them were competing with the local league TT elite within 2-3 league seasons. After all...
  20. TableTennisDaily signs partnership with Betterplay.ai

Interesting and useful for video posters. Many times I only watch a couple points from posted personal videos. Reason was that it contained no editing whatsoever. Time for me to now dig out some old TT videos and get them edited 😊
