  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

As for Gozo hated half long balls, I love attacking them with spin... or stepping in early with BH and finish them.
  2. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes, Aurus makes it easy to do just about any shot 96 out of 100 or more, but never 100 out of 100 in any. There are no 100 percent perfect rubbers in everything. There are trade-offs and Aurus to me by far has the best balance of trade-offs. You basically give up a tiny little of everything...
  3. Loud rubbers recommendation

Any of the ESN rubbers with "Sound" in the name... Calibra Sound Aurus Sound ...just to name two of the many. You want extra extra soft rubber for this sound.
  4. CORKSCREW --the best rewarding type of spin.

IMO this is an OUTSTANDING articulation of the facts. I would add that tables have different levels of friction coefficient for each table top. Many of the tables we use in clubs have a pretty low friction coefficient. The DHS tables in clubs after a few years are somewhat slick. A certain...
  5. CORKSCREW --the best rewarding type of spin.

That serve had all three spins with the corkscrew bounce going against the side spin drift... so ball bounces more times on the table with the ball continuing to move/drift to the left. The corkscrew spin also controls the bounce here to help it stay lower. It is an example of how corkscrew...
  6. CORKSCREW --the best rewarding type of spin.

I would agree and say in a different illustration/explanation that corkscrew is thinking like a face of a clock is a ball coming at you and the spin axis is the minute hand going clockwise or counter clockwise... ... that sidespin is like clock laying flat on the table sliding towards you...
  7. HOT DAMN !!! This coach teaches FH Slow/Heavy loop exactly every key point Der_Echte values !!!

Yes, the SLOWNESS of slow/heavy loops absolutely WRECKS timing... and that counts for a lot.
  8. HOT DAMN !!! This coach teaches FH Slow/Heavy loop exactly every key point Der_Echte values !!!

YES. Especially with professionally trained young players, who always train with fast hitting rallies in training... Their high level coaches would NEVER, I mean NEVER advocate for slow, heavy, it is pretty much a sacrilege and violation of how modern TT is SUPPOSED to be played. So... since...
  9. HOT DAMN !!! This coach teaches FH Slow/Heavy loop exactly every key point Der_Echte values !!!

I do not at all know who Perry Schwartzberg is, but I do speak German among other trouble making activities..
  10. HOT DAMN !!! This coach teaches FH Slow/Heavy loop exactly every key point Der_Echte values !!!

I have hit vs a boatload of players from just about every level and I can say with honesty and truth that the great majority of players under 2100 level in a match will struggle against those slow/heavy loops if you get the opportunity to play that shot, even many 2300 level struggle, just not...
  11. HOT DAMN !!! This coach teaches FH Slow/Heavy loop exactly every key point Der_Echte values !!!

Far away from the bounce, without doing a retrieve impacting ball off the spin axis (impacting on the side a little) it is way more difficult to block heavy slow loop than simply getting the bat to the bounce cover it with loose grip. Touch required to retrieve away from table is much finer...
  12. HOT DAMN !!! This coach teaches FH Slow/Heavy loop exactly every key point Der_Echte values !!!

I would opine that the light spin balls often pass the endline... so if you get the hips down and let the ball drop real low, it is a GREAT opportunity to spin heavy... but right now heavy Spin for gozo is a four letter word that starts with s like it is a forbidden word to say. it is well...
  13. HOT DAMN !!! This coach teaches FH Slow/Heavy loop exactly every key point Der_Echte values !!!

Hi @Tyce , On the slow loop, what determines how far the ball rebounds off your bat (or ultimately what controls that) is your grip pressure and delta (change of grip pressure) at impact. If you are soft, rebound doesn't take ball very deep. If you loosen during impact, you can get ball to...
  14. HOT DAMN !!! This coach teaches FH Slow/Heavy loop exactly every key point Der_Echte values !!!

Hi @dingyibvs I would say true, but even earlier in the cases of responding with flip if serve is short. One needs to figure out subconsciously within 20-30 cm after first bounce what happened and where/when/how the ball is gunna come to our side and very quickly figure out what to do (without...
  15. Why do some blades feel heavier, but are not actually heavier?

There are no 100% solutions to equipment and technique... and there are trade-offs. You made you evaluation of what is important and chose what you valued. Every player should do their own evaluation like you did and figure out how they want to roll. At least you put thought into it and...
  16. Why do some blades feel heavier, but are not actually heavier?

As there is zero singular correct answer in TT, I can accept this. Some players with a certain type of swing and impact have built their swing this way and it is what they know, crave, and value. Those who have grooved their swing, impact, and equipment have pretty much optimized what it takes...
  17. Why do some blades feel heavier, but are not actually heavier?

If a player has a discus throw like long back swing and mostly catapulting long straight arm kinda looping, the opposite will feel true. Such a looper craves a head heavy setup... for such a player, a lower center of weight will make it more difficult to loop... there is not much assistance...
  18. Why do some blades feel heavier, but are not actually heavier?

Two biggest factors in play... 1- Balance/distribution of weight. Weight more forward to tip of blade, even by a little will make it more difficult to whip and inherently feel heavier. Opposite is true. I did it with the Stiga Allround Evolution blade, changed from 80s grams to almost120s...
  19. ❓What Is Your Setup, and WHY?

I would assess that the Clipper is close enough to my center of mass for it to be appropriate and effective for me... and you as well.
  20. HOT DAMN !!! This coach teaches FH Slow/Heavy loop exactly every key point Der_Echte values !!!

Hi Gozo... it is NOT an exaggeration at all to believe that IF you can slow/heavy spin underspin long balls and land them 70% plus that you will win the point nearly every time. This contributes to wins.
