  1. Best 47-47.5 degree backhand rubber?

This is what I suspect is the same as Nexy Karis, which lasts damn FOREVER... a local player here has a 5 yr old sheet of it on both sides and hits the ball with fury and it looks like the damn thing will last another FIVE years before he rips the sheets of his blade with pain and tears.
  2. Best 47-47.5 degree backhand rubber?

Note @Gozo Aruna that Aurus regular is 47-48 degree sponge, but can play softer, because of its supple topsheet. Aurus makes all shots easy and that equates to control, so that is why we feel so good playing it.
  3. Which tibhar blade is this?

I think I still have 5 of those, almost like the Kim Junghoon, but a layer different. Spinners can spin with that blade.
  4. attaching weight to handle. legal?

Yes, this is the argument of balance over total weight. I value lower balance and overall, a heavier weight which makes me play much more stable vs incoming high energy balls. This is NOT... ALWAYS true... but often true. A few overall lighter setups I can play super just fine.
  5. Zhang Jike signs with Donic

Hey Choosistick, Maybe the headshed over at Donic thinks they can do what BTY has done so successfully the last decade plus ka-ching cash... by re-branding that same blade with a high level pro name and different handle design.

Another positive aspect of tt is that players all must face failure and overcome it. Repeatedly. it builds resilience. Often, it makes us better people, often if makes us humble people. There are fewer arrogant tt players compared to the amount in rest of society.

While we are discussing tactics in general... your tactic in quotes while serving to players who do not attack your serve is a very effective way to operate. Why? - opponent isn't attacking and may miss - give you a zero risk point - opponent impacts ball at endline or behind it... give you a...
  8. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

If my opponent does not attack and reasonable return i give him or her, I am not under any pressure or obligation to attack the first attackable ball. Attacking the very first attackable ball 100% of the time vs such an opponent is a way to give away a lot of points needlessly. It is higher...
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes, you hit it right, a person has to handle this stuff themselves... some need only a few reps, some need a lot, some never really get there. It is good you are around to support, it increases his chances.
  10. Your backhand sucks? It's ok brother, don't cry! We're in this together for the long run....

I can confirm that @Jslick89 is seeing the ball WAY better than just 6 months ago and soon his tourney rating will take a small to large jump due to just that area of improvement (which is the number 1 skill in TT IMO)
  11. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

@Takkyu_wa_inochi ... I say this in my last post form personal experience in both needing such mental performance improvement and having made much improvement in that area.
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

@Takkyu_wa_inochi ... there is a HUGE difference between ability in club or practice matches and an officially sanctioned match that matters... a HUGE difference. Your friend needs better mental performance to win in those sanctioned tourney moments.

It's about context. The information given was missing a lot of attacks vs long serves. Why piss away points? I think my comment was about another member's situation. In your context, if you are able to consistently loop a long serve... and keep the advantage or get winners, than attacking is a...
  14. Need advice for a allround+ blade with a big handle

@ToH You are in Europe... there are MANY custom blade makers who make a custom blade for less than the popular BTY blades... you get to specify how thick, long, shape, etc... This is worth looking at. I made a challenge to custom blade makers and with a $400 USD budget got 4 blade makers to...
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I hear you, but that is a way to lose a lot of points needlessly. (and that is what such an opponent thrives on) If the opponent has good serves (meaning you as receiver cannot read them well) WHY... WHY... WHY is it a good idea to be 100% pre-dispositioned attack them ??? These are lower...
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Hi @jk1980 I will present it logically as quoted above. IF your opponent WILL NOT or CANNOT attack your underspin... you are under ZERO PRESSURE to attack the first attackable ball. It makes sense to sometimes or often give one back with underspin and the next ball will be more predictable...
  17. Is the hurricane 3 neo still worth it after tack reduction?

Sergey the Tsos, the undisputed national leader in the tuning and proper usage of H3, says to quit wasting time with NEO or other subpar versions of H3... there is hard to source national H3, and there is the rest of the garbage heap. BTW, he can heavy spin with sandpaper like rubber.
  18. Harimoto Innerforce Super ALC

I gave this blade to a Ukrainian player "Tim" who is coming back to the sport, dressed with Aurus and Aurus SOUND... his FH topspin is so damn easy with this setup...
