  1. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Grass D. Tecs just like Batra and Ghorpade. She recently switched to Viscaria Super ALC after using the Boll ZLC. Before she switched rackets she was using Xiom, but recently I've seen her use both Dignics and Rasanter.

  4. World #90 Iba Diaw loses to Unranked Female Opponent, Calls Cheating!

You're telling me you don't table tennis to go in the direction of *checks notes* the fastest growing sport in the United States?
  5. World #90 Iba Diaw loses to Unranked Female Opponent, Calls Cheating!

It's okay. You guys can admit you spend 100s of $$$ on equipment and still don't know how to play against pips players.
  6. World #90 Iba Diaw loses to Unranked Female Opponent, Calls Cheating!

People who complain about long pips in 2023 just aren't very good at the sport imo. You had the aspect ratio change in the early 90s, the aspect ratio and pimple density change in the late 90s, then the ball got larger (less spin), then the frictionless ban in 2008, AND then the ball change...
  7. Koki Niwa Wood or Tibhar Force Pro Black edition

I used the Koki Niwa wood for a good while and it's a fantastic blade. It has an absolute great feeling for being so fast, and can generate tons of spin. The control is really great as well. I also used it with sponge and OX long pips and it felt really nice (I much preferred it with OX)...
  8. butterfly free chalk glue

It's true. Free Chack Pro II is by far the best glue. Great viscosity, doesn't dry too quickly, solid bond, peels off very easily assuming you give the layers enough time to dry.
  9. Victas koki niwa wood

Agree that the arc is insanely low which made it really hard to play with at times, and I was using V > 15 extra which doesn't have particularly high arc either. I still think it's an awesome blade but you have to be very thoughtful about what rubbers you're putting on it.
  10. O9C Durability

I haven't used D09c but I can vouch for Dragon Grip. It's an awesome, awesome rubber. It requires a solid stroke foundation for the best performance (i.e. getting the maximum speed, otherwise I can understand why some might think it's "slow", but it isn't at all). It was much, much easier to...
  11. Flat hitter

V > 15 extra for sure. Fastarc G-1 is good too, however it's a little bit too soft feeling. If only they sold Fastarc G-1 50 outside of Korea...
  12. Classic Defense Set Up

Have you used long pips before? if not, and you dont have anyone to show you, P1R is going to be very hard to use. I'd try a short pip (like 802) first. The defplay is a fantastic choice. I'm sure Vega intro is good as well, but also maybe consider Hurricane 3 37 for the extra spin.
  13. Anyone tried Victas V>22 yet?

2.0 is not thin though? Most amateurs play with equipment that is way too fast for them, and I can pretty easily finish off points against 2000+ level players with just 2.0mm. Have you played with V > 15 Extra? Just curious if the difference is worth the extra $$$, and from a lot of the...
  14. Anyone tried Victas V>22 yet?

V > 20 is 52.5, where as V > 22 is 50. V > 20 is supposed to be more all-around and more balanced, as well as safer to use. I was a big fan of V > 20 when I first got it, but then died quickly, so I've been hesitant to try V > 22. I'm currently very happy with V > 15 and it's already lasted much...
  15. Medium Pips... for?

Of course they can, but different long pips have different purposes, The range of friction levels (so long as they are not frictuonless), pimple density, and aspect ratio create completely different pips. Rubbers like Grass DTecs and Desperado 2 are completely different from say, 755 and P1. I...
  16. Why would you use short pips?

For a casual player this view is really underrepresented and underrated. I blame this in part because there is this prevailing view that using pips means your game is deficient in some way, and thus you need something extra to beat people.I use long pips because it's made the game far more...
  17. What is the best alternative for Tenergy 05?

I don't know how helpful this is, but I think we should consider players that used to use Tenergy/Dignics, and are now sponsored by other brands or chose to switch. Alexis Lebrun - Dignics 09c/Dignics 09c -> Hybrid K3/Hybrid K3 Felix Lebrun - Dignics 09c/Dignics 09c -> Hybrid K3/Hybrid K3 Kenta...
  18. Has Anyone Tried the New Victas V > 22 Rubber?

I've been considering getting it myself just to see, but from what I've read, it appears to not be different enough from V > 15 Extra to justify the price. Yu Daisumi, who used to be the head equipment tester for World Table Tennis magazine, had this to say in comparison to V > 20 double extra...
  19. T.S.P Curl P-H ?

I also used Curl P-H as well. My opinions match those of haggisv, but I'll restate them here. Note that I used the OX version (which I think is the best considering how P-H behaves) - This is by far the slowest long pip I've never used, and nothing comes close. The amount of control this gives...
  20. Why Manika Batra took liking for shabby pimples.

There's only so far you can take a pure blocking style at the top level of table tennis. It simply doesn't have enough variety, and in the era of the plastic ball, has diminishing returns as far as spin reversal. Yang Xiaoxin (Curl P1V) and He Zhuojia (Feint Soft) are able to use their pips to...
