  1. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

At19, Ma Long was far away from reaching this "No weakness" statue. Judging solely from last 6 months' performance and achievement, we might say no one in the modern history of table tennis including all these grand slam winners can compare with LSD at this early stage of their career. I never...
  2. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Also notice LSD scored a large portion of points against A Lebrun by just pushing. The anticipated mid-long distance missiles exchange didn't occur that often. In stead, we saw an agitated and angry Lebrun and his coach vs. the cool acting LSD calmly placing the ball wherever he wanted. Also...
  3. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I am more generous giving Liang two games. :)
  4. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I have to say, like LSD who has no doubt already has solid footing in the top two spots in the Chinese men's team, very likely one of two 2028 Olympic single player representing the nation, Quai Man is moving fast in the same direction like Lin. Though QM's rise took a lot longer than expected...
  5. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Very interesting to notice in the deciding game in the women double final, the current best female player Sun committed at least 5 unforced errors, contributed greatly to the loss of the crown. Before that, she was also the player who contributed the most kills and tough shots, the main reason...
  6. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Agree. QM has improved a lot in her forehand loops in terms of speed and consistency, especially, left's best weapon against right handed players: a deadly cross court FH loop to the wide corner.
  7. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I give a small edge to Lin for tomorrow's final. Liang can use the same tactics today in beating WCQ against Lin, which is sustaining the initial attacks and engaging rallies away from the table. Lin does have a very strong long distance games but that also is Liang's main strength. Also, like...
  8. WTT Contender Muscat-2025 - 11-17 Jan 2025

When WCQ is on, he is the toughest opponent for TH. Compared to TH, WCQ simply is just as fast as TH but with higher quality forehand and backhand, better serves(though questionably hidden) and serve return, and he is lefty. TH is maybe a little better in defense with blocks which doesn't matter...
  9. WTT Contender Muscat-2025 - 11-17 Jan 2025

Antics? Aside from some excessive chooing after winning a point, what other behaviors can be characterized as antics? In fact, as TH matures he has toned down the chooing a bit.
  10. WTT Contender Muscat-2025 - 11-17 Jan 2025

Watched the final between Harimoto and Chen. I'm pretty impressed by Chen's playing style and performance. Chen has the smoothest transition from backhand to forehand among current Chinese rosters, reminding me one of prime Ma Long's major weapons. Chen's backhand is no way near that of Lin...
  11. WTT Contender Muscat-2025 - 11-17 Jan 2025

New comer Huang looks impressive and promising. His playing style resembles that of Wang Chuqin.
  12. WTT Star Contender Doha 2025 - 6-11 Jan 2025

Lovely girl. "How can anyone not like Miwa?"
  13. WTT Star Contender Doha 2025 - 6-11 Jan 2025

Quai Man has made a noticeable improvement on her forehand in both pace and power without sacrificing consistency. Good for her. Her backhand is not spectacular but solid with a reliable wide cross court loop that often gives opponents fits. With a much improved forehand, she has a decent chance...
  14. WTT Star Contender Doha 2025 - 6-11 Jan 2025

Who said Chinese are emotionless after winning? In Wang Liqin's world champion title match against his teammate Kong, he was in tears after the match. Crying? That is the ultimate form of emotion pouring by an adult male!
  15. WTT Star Contender Doha 2025 - 6-11 Jan 2025

A nice smile from Fan. If a player is so great and achieves so much, winning is normal for him that he doesn't have to express the overjoy side.
  16. WTT Star Contender Doha 2025 - 6-11 Jan 2025

Yes, performing well at critical moments is a big part of the reasons a player is great.
  17. WTT Star Contender Doha 2025 - 6-11 Jan 2025

Yes, time has changed but some folks' stereotypical view hasn't. Probably never will.
  18. WTT Star Contender Doha 2025 - 6-11 Jan 2025

Well balanced match up. Chinese second tier vs. Japanese second tier. Notice, China didn't send the first tier players and Japan did but got all knocked out before the semi.
  19. Rank the Top 5 FH and BH in the world today!

Yeah, he is no.1 but for a long stretch of time, he played like outside of top 20. If he had a reliable forehand, he won't allow him to play subpar for so long. Can you imagine Ma Long in anytime of his career would allow him to get beat pretty much by any opponents for a few months? When Wang...
  20. Top 5 annoying practice partners

That's due to some player's mentality: "win the point as soon as possible" whether it's a game or practice/warmup. Another reason is many players shot mechanic lacks fundamental resulting they don't have the delicate control of the shots. They either do all out or just passive block.
