  1. Do players like Dimitri change their equipment due to sponsorship with other brands?

Butterfly will just make a blade very similar to what he is used to and maybe come up with a model named after him. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=180217766538639 at 1:45
  2. What happens if the ball hits your finger and the ball makes it to the other side?

That means if you're good enough and don't mind being called dirty, you can legally give your opponents literal knuckle balls or backhand balls as a means to vary the speed and spin and still have offensive rubbers on both sides of your blade.
  3. WIN A SIGNED Simon Gauzy blade

    Gauzy 11 - 3 Dan.
  4. ITTF video quality ? Is there a reason ?

There is nothing stopping ITTF from uploading the high quality captures off the hard drive after the fact to youtube. There are probably editing software that saves its editing points that can reproduce the edited footage on the high quality video data. Someone familiar with live video editing...
  5. How to properly store WBG?

If it's drying maybe the material being used to bottle up the glue isn't as airtight as it should be. It might be permeable to ammonia or other gases to some extent especially if it is made from plastic.
  6. How to properly store WBG?

WBG should not dry out if the container is air tight. What glue are you using? Is the the glue being exposed to very low temperatures?
  7. My thoughts on Dignics 09c

It was at 38:18 for me. I can't believe they kept that clip in but it was gold. Goes to show not all the pros drink the Butterfly koolaid even if they are sponsored. Had to switch the VPN to a german server to see the clip though.
  8. Best blade for ambitioned hobby players

If I may throw in my 2 cent, I would not suggest the Tibhar Stratus Power Wood at all if you want control. Mine is the fastest 5 ply blade I have tried and it feels non-linear probably due to it's flex vs speed rating. I think you need a certain amount of stiffness for a fast blade to have control.
  9. San Francisco looking for training partner.

I don't even know what to say to a $100 rubber you need to boost to get the best out of it. Of course it's weaknesses will be fixed with the new 09C $100 rubber the Butterfly just released. SMH.
  10. Is it the end for fan made content of table tennis?

@EmRatThich, can you clarify is it permitted for someone to post their own recordings of an ITTF match or is that something they will go after as well?
  11. Chinese rubbers

Could it be possible the plastic balls have reduced the perceived speed difference between Chinese rubbers and "faster" rubbers? In the past I've felt a large difference but I've since felt that the unboosted Chinese rubbers seems to be less handicapped by it's lack of speed.
  12. Yinhe T11 or another hard blade?

I do not suggest using a T11 unless you are a pips player doing smashes. It is fast and has very little dwell time so it not easy to loop with. I would upgrade to some harder rubbers that are less spin sensitive like the Nittaku Fastarc G-1 and keep using the Allplay for now. The T11 is too...
  13. Is it the end for fan made content of table tennis?

I think its a stupid move on ITTFs part even if fan made recordings are illegal. The idea is to promote the sport by whatever means and this kind of small minded actions will only create distaste for ITTF and reduce the footprint of table tennis in the youtube community. They are trying to...
  14. Q: What kind is this Yasaka blade?

Unless someone else knows, it's a bit risky getting a blade you know nothing about. Better pay a bit more to get something you've tried before or is well reviewed. The Yasaka extra offensive and Sweden Extra is only 29 and 25 euro respectively on tabletennis11.
  15. Zhang Jike comes out of retirement for 1 match today! With a twist!

    > I still don't get how an untrained ZJK could win against someone who defeated Wang Chuqin and Liang Jingkun. Thats because ZJK is part of the golden era in Chinese TT. None of the players after him and Ma Long has thus far shown the kind of talent his generation has.
  16. revivng dead rubbers?

This might help more in your case than boosting: Revolution Nr.3, Rubber Cleaner & Rejuvenator.
  17. Opinions regarding flexible/stiff - hard/soft blades for a beginner

If you like the Stiga Nostalgic ALL, then stick with it. Important thing is that it gives you the feel to learn and execute all the strokes you need in a game. You can also use grip tape on the Violin to customize the grip to your liking. If you are curious about carbon blades, join a TT club...
  18. Need even more advice on equipment /s

No, no, no you're doing it all wrong. Join the dark side with short pips on the FH and sun treated OX long pips on your backhand. Then you can break 2000 even if you're fat, old and talentless. Nothing more fun than pissing of Ma Long wannabes by just putting that blade gently in front of a loop...
  19. Applegreen Allplay or Timo Boll ALC? (+ rubbers?)

I'd get both if you can afford it. Hold the cheap TB ALC in reserve until you're comfortable using a faster blade.
