  1. Beginner blade and rubbers

It is old, but a classic that is easy to play and will help you develop your strokes & game. As an update to Mark V Yasaka also has Rigan & Rigan Spin is their modern introductory rubber to tensors. Tensor rubber is basically all the new rubber provided today that has prebuilt tension in the...
  2. Beginner blade and rubbers

Myriads of threads on this topic, but it can get confusing with multiple suggestions. Not sure of your budget Classic pure beginner setup: YSE + Mark V (ask for assembled, not the premade from factory) A more modern beginner setup: Nittaku + Factive Difference being the Nittaku setup MAY be an...
  3. Is there a comprehensive review of Stiga Mantra Pro M?

Have you seen this 9 page thread? Zwill offers some pretty insightful information on its characteristics, but it’s still not a very popular rubber.
  4. Broken WCQ blade

Wouldn’t he bless all his equipment in this sacred ritual? Wouldn’t make much sense to have a back up if you’re not as comfortable playing with it lol.
  5. STIGA Mantra M or Butterfly Rozena (BH)

The newer Mantra Pro M is probably better than both of these options.
  6. Is YSE + Rakza 7 too fast for beginner?

Yes, and I agree with you. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is how BTY markets Rozena as their introductory rubber, no? All Im saying is that since Rozena came out every brand has made an introductory rubber to step up to their more powerful (tensioned) rubbers. Rozena -> Tenergy Factive ->...
  7. Hybrid MK FX

Being softer does this have more bounce than regular HK? Some people say the regular HK is so slow its not suitable for all-wood blades, but Im wondering if this would be better suited.
  8. Is YSE + Rakza 7 too fast for beginner?

Yasaka made the Rigan & Rigan Spin to bridge the gap between Mark V and tensioned rubbers like Rakza. It's just not very popular, but the few reviews I've read all seem to be well received. BUT that's if you want to stick with Yasaka. Almost every manufacturer makes a modern introductory rubber...
  9. Is YSE + Rakza 7 too fast for beginner?

She just needs to adjust, but if you want to change to a moderately slower rubber I would suggest Rigan Spin in 2.0 on both sides from TT-Japan, or Rozena in 1.9.
  10. Rally’s Redmonkey series

Thanks for the quick review. I did see mention that it was like a modern Fastarc.
  11. Nittaku New Products 2024

Im no Yogi, and Im not at the level to tell a huge difference between 5 pieces of wood from another so I can’t really speak on speed, spin, and flex, but more so how it feels compared to my other blades. Played briefly tonight, 3 games with the Acoustic, 2 with the Korbel, and I can’t tell a...
  12. Rally’s Redmonkey series

Has anyone tried or even heard of these rubbers or company. Supposedly the first Japanese produced rubber with a 50° tensioned sponge, and the softer version “Spin” with a 46° sponge. Sounds gimmicky, but seems to be selling well in Japan (or that might be marketing), and I believe a team is...
  13. Silver Server

    who?

    who?
  14. New Stiga Mantra Pro

Can anyone compare Mantra Pro M to Rakza 7? Is it suitable for an all-around offensive rubber for developing players, or is it more of a intermediate-advanced rubber? I see mention of it being easy to play and insensitive to spin, but also that it is a fast rubber and somewhat of a boosted G1...
  15. Nittaku New Products 2024

It was just delivered yesterday. So hopefully I get to glue it and play with it sometime this week. Although I have nothing to compare it to other than a Petr Korbel JP, and a Yasaka Sweden Extra. Edited to add: I will say however, I’ve never felt an original Acoustic handle, but this feels way...
  16. Upgrading beginner setup advice

Wouldn’t the XH be too hard & fast for a developing player? I myself would probably start with M first then move up from there. Unless there’s not much difference between that and R7.
  17. Upgrading beginner setup advice

That’s a great set-up as I’ve just ordered the new Acoustic G-Revision (the revised handle) since it was on sale at TT11, and plan on pairing with some R7 rubbers I currently have. Plan on using this for the next year or two to see how I progress. Other rubber that feels similar is Rozena, and...
  18. Upgrading beginner setup advice

Victas Euro Feeling Off with 2.0 Xiom Vega Intro both sides.
  19. Nittaku New Products 2024

Awesome man! Thanks for the review. I never played with any Nittaku blade, but I hope these Revisions play just as well (or better) than the originals. Can’t wait to get mine in & glued up.
  20. Nittaku New Products 2024

I just went for the all-wood version. Heard so many things over the years I’ve been dying to get one. Not quite at the level to use carbon yet, but if I ever get there and like this I will def get an NAIC in the future. Interested to hear how this new handle compares to the SG as I read that’s...
