  1. Stiga Cybershape Carbon vs Stiga Dynasty

I'm trying to upgrade from DC to Cybershape, so I can compare them. They are actually quite similar overall. These are my impressions after two sessions: Cybershape is slighly faster, stiffer, bit more bouncy. Also a bit lower throw. Spin feels comparable, DC probably slighly better though. FH...
  2. Hurricane 3 neo

@UpSideDownCarl I don't understand why it would be allowed to put words into another one's mouth to entirely misrepresent what they were saying and then basing an entire argument on that to attack someone's reputation. Here is an example. Carl, I don't I think it's acceptable to dismiss...
  3. Hurricane 3 neo

Again. I NEVER said it makes sense ONLY to brush against backspin. I instead stated that it makes a lot of sense to brush against BS, and less so on other balls. This is the second time in a row you have twisted my words to invalidate my arguments in an obvious effort to discredit me. I have...
  4. Yao Jinxiang: Invader? More Japanese youths think Japan is a "victim"

interpret whatever you want, apparently your opinion is set in stone already
  5. Yao Jinxiang: Invader? More Japanese youths think Japan is a "victim"

this whole mess is one of the dumbest and most confusing stories I ever heard. Goes like this: Girl goes to museum to improve her moral compass => people misinterpret either because stupid or they have some political agenda => bullshit ensues In this world of misinformation / disinformation...
  6. Hurricane 3 neo

you seem to assume that brushing = not enaging the sponge. But I would not say they are mutually exclusive. Doing both is perfectly fine. There is still a range of trading some speed for spin and vice versa. But spin is more difficult to consistently play these days without giving the opponent...
  7. Hurricane 3 neo

bad in various situations, because it is limiting. can't play fast topspin against empty ball. Can't play topspin at all in humid conditions. Can't play fast low arcing shots with consistency. If you close the racket to play forward you hit edge more often. There are more and less useful...
  8. Hurricane 3 neo

kind of true, but you already mentioned the issue. As a beginner, with H3 you would need to train for 1-2 years before you would have any success with it in a real match scenario, because there is no forgiveness. Unless you do stupid coping technique like brushing the ball without compressing...
  9. [WRM] The "breaking" backhand and other types of topspin backhands

where on earth did you get the idea from that I said kaitai is ONLY good away from the table? I thought it would be obvious I was talking about marginal differences. Of course you can use any technique from any position and be more or less successful with it. But clearly, the marginal...
  10. [WRM] The "breaking" backhand and other types of topspin backhands

this is a really good distinction. The kaitai one seems more powerful but less control, especially close to the table, and seems kind of sidespin-ish, whereas the ko one is more safe and stable close to the table but seems hard to add power away from the table. Combining them depending on the...
  11. Can't find the right rubber for my FH

based on your description, tenergy19 is good, but rhyzer48 is similar and cheaper
  12. What are your favourite hybrid rubbers?

My favorite is O7 China Guang, because I don't know other hybrids... Did someone find a 'better' hybrid than Guang?
  13. Xiom J&H X50 - backhand wonder

I think V is best for controlled punch, block, flat hit type of game. First topspin is okay, but second lacks power and spin. Not sure about X.
  14. How often do you have to replace your cutting knife?

Cutting with a blade looks way cleaner than with any scizor. I also use surgical scalpels. One for each replacement set of rubbers. Then just throw away. After 6 months repeat. Simple and clean.
  15. Under $5 rubbers

so what are the best options for FH and BH? I have not tried a ton but I what I liked best for BH was mercury 2 medium and for FH the PF4-50 both boosted with 2-3 layers of seamoon. How do these compare to what you tried so far?
  16. Blue sponge on backhand?

I think you can use it, but you would have to loop drive a majority of balls coming to your backhand because of the lower and longer arc. This will be good if your technique is solid and you make good use of your body on the BH strokes. There will be less focus on spin, control and placement...
  17. Rubber for Chopper's Forehand

harder hybrid rubbers make sense because as chopper you dont need the medium gear that is hard to generate against low-energy balls. You either keep it slow and spinny or you go for a big counter. And you dont need to sustain your attacks. You can just go back to chopping when its blocked back...
  18. Need help about Japan

for tt, japan is not ideal as visitor, because many closed-off systems and language barrier. but if long-term stay, good opportunities.
  19. booster only for china rubbers?

same here! although I prefer a very light boost on a new rubber as well.
  20. How is your experience boosting ESN hard hybrid rubbers?

boosting is more related to the percieved softness and elasticity in relation to the hardness than it is to speed. something like K3 is consistently playable out of the package, while something like Guang is not, I had sheet that were playable, but also sheets that were hard like a brick and...
