  1. New Xiom Jekyll and Hyde Rubbers

Perhaps it's like one of short pimple rubbers that can be glued onto your blade in two orientations? Although you would not be able to see the pimples, the orientation probably still has an impact.
  2. Advice for new rubbers

The Rakza X are already high-end rubbers. If these do not give you enough power, you should probably look at a faster blade. In saying this, since your rubbers are 2 years old, a couple of new sheets are already going to give you significant;y more spin and a little more power.
  3. Should ittf take additional measures to slow the game down?

Are there any other sports, where the international federation continues to make changes to the rules, to make the sport more interesting for non-playing audiences (often at the detriment of the players)? Extreme speed and spin makes our sport special!
  4. Blue Hurricane 9 rubber coming 2022

It looks terrible from the picture... like a cheap pre-made special. Perhaps the blue scuffs more easily?
  5. Why does this happen when gluing?

Some blades have outer plies made of very porous wood, which can absorb the water in the glue very quickly, which gives you very little time to spread the glue. The solution is to seal the blade, which will slow down (or stop in the case of polyurethane sealers) the absorption of the water in...
  6. New Color of Good Rubbers

The best place to check which new rubbers will come out in new colours would be the ITTF LARC, which you can find here: https://equipments.ittf.com/#/equipments/racket_coverings Rubber need to be on this list before they can be released, so it's a good way of seeing which brands/models are...
  7. What is STIGA Cybershape?

I'm curious to know, from anyone that glued rubbers onto this blade, if it's easier or harder to cut the rubbers for this blade. I suspect it will be harder if you use a knife, because the corners will be harder to get the knife around smoothly.
  8. Welcome to TableTennisDaily 2.0 - Bug Report

I don't know if this is a bug or intentional, but regularly when I click on a link within this site, I get this pop-up saying "This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave — information you’ve entered may not be saved." it takes an extra click to proceed. I suspect it's designed to...
  9. Difference between TSP Black balsa 5.0mm and TSP balsa 4.5mm Allround

From memory the two blades are quite similar, both have that unique layer of balsa with fiber direction towards the surface (usually the direction is along the surface). The 5.0 is just a little faster, as the balsa layer is thicker. Both blades are a little bouncy, but since Rakza 7 is not that...
  10. A Comprehensive List of Famous Blade Clones

It's pretty clear that some of these cheaper brands use the claim that one of their blade is a clone of a famous blade, very much for marketing purposes. What you get (and pay for) with the majority of high-end blades is (1) a much stricter selection of materials and (2) much stricter quality...
  11. Is this Taksim fake or real?

The bottom and back look right. I've not seen Butterfly blades come in the plastic shrinkwrap like that though. It's possible that only the Chinese distributor get it like that. On your first picture I cannot see that shrinkwrap, was that taken after it was removed?
  12. TT Job offer: Online Customer Service [remote job]

That post is over 4 years old!
  13. Is this Taksim fake or real?

I thought this blade was discontinued many years ago.
  14. Xiom Vega iSwitch Rubbers

Always good to see you too Der_Echte! I have nothing but good memories from our interactions in the past, so I'll make an effort to show my face around here more often. 😁
  15. Butterfly Primorac?

The problems is mostly related to shipping out of Japan... they are mostly only able to offer the much slower surface mail, adding long delays to even more delays that most countries are experiencing due to Covid19 restrictons. The Primorac is not all that special though IMO, most brands have...
  16. Xiom Vega iSwitch Rubbers

Which is probably similar to the weight that normal glues adds anyway.
  17. Donic Ovtcharov True Carbon

Because he changed sponsors... it does not really say anything about the blade being better or worse. I agree with Zwill, it's similar to Viscaria or TB ALC, and works well with most modern rubbers.
  18. BUBBLE - DHS Hurricane 3 national blue sponge

Bubbles are ALWAYS a risk when you boost, no matter how careful you are. The extra tension from boosting weakens the topsheet to sponge bond, and can come loose from the impact of the ball. In general Chinese-made rubbers have a weaker bond between topsheet & sponge, so it's more likely to occur.
  19. Yasaka Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard rubbers

Nice review Yogi! Since this rubber is also a German ESN rubber, do you think they're similar and use the same technology as other recent tacky Tensors, like Joola Golden Tango PS, Donic Bluegrip series, Tibhar Hybrid series, etc?
