  1. Sanwei Target Pro 3

I then asked what the Target Pro 3 is, and got this response: "We don't have any authorized distributors on Aliexpress. And we don't have the "Target Pro 3" in our product line." What is going on here?
  2. Sanwei Target Pro 3

I emailed Sanwei and asked what the "New" Target National is. I got this reply: "The New Target National has the same top sheet and sponge as the old version. The difference is mainly about the design and the mold surface treatment." What in the world does mold surface treatment mean?
  3. Which countries are considered strongest in TT at the club level?

I see a lot of Russian speaking players on Youtube and whatever, so it seems that Eastern Europe in general has quite a few strong players. But how come there are not strong players in the pro ranks from Eastern Europe? I even see some top ranking players from Brazil, Egypt, etc but not from Russia.
  4. Boosters for Chinese rubbers

Question: Among the Chinese boosters, are certain boosters better for certain type of rubber (ie: dense rubber vs porous or ESN)?
  5. Sanwei Target China

I randomly came across this really badass looking purple sponge rubber. The rich purple porous sponge on the black topsheet just looks really glorious. Can somebody translate what the advertising is trying to say? Is it supposed to be a hybrid rubber with a imported elastic sponge...
  6. Is outer alc blade considered better for blocking?

I know that there tends to be the impression that outer alc blades are better for close to table player, while inner alc/zlc blades are better for looping play. In recent months, I have been playing with inner zlc blade to emphasize looping play. Against my recent opponents, I am often put on...
  7. Which countries are considered strongest in TT at the club level?

I think Carl is talking about average players at the club level. The average level of players who practice with regularity. I was surprised to see how good Eastern European players are. Their technique doesn't always look so correct to my eye, but their level looks objectively to be very high.
  8. How do you learn the counter-punch stroke?

Just curious, how close would Aya be to the top US female player? I think Lily Zhang is considered the best. Where would Aya fall in the US? Top 50, Top 100? Top 20? She said that throughout high school, she basically did no studying at all and was just playing TT all the time. She said in...
  9. What's considered heavy for a racket?

The v14 Pro is 93g, but it has a thick handle and a slightly short head. So I think it is slightly handle heavy head light. But when you hold it and swing it, it feels very heavy.
  10. What's considered heavy for a racket?

Ok something is really weird. I took the 2 rubbers off and put it back onto the 88g blade, but now the total racket weight is 189g. But on the 93g blade, the total weight is 199g. This doesn't make sense. Am I missing something?
  11. What's considered heavy for a racket?

I was playing with a pair of rubber on a 88g blade, and the overall racket blade felt just right. Not too heavy, and not too light. Today I switched the same 2 rubbers to a 93g blade (V14 Pro) and the total weight is now 199g. I didn't weigh my original setup, but it must have weighed 194g. 5g...
  12. 1 Game of Mine against college opponent

One other thing is that i have a really bad habit of trying to hit the ball in the middle of the blade, rather than the middle of the head. So often times the ball hits my finger or hand. Im still trying to mentally force myself to move my racket head slightly to the right so the ball lands in...
  13. 1 Game of Mine against college opponent

Well after playing several days together, he started to get better feeling for his loop attack. After a while he started to directly loop my serve and his % went up a lot. I started losing many more games and also lost several sets. So I had to make an adjustment to take the advantage back. A...
  14. Bengtsson Stellan (Sweden) - 70!

What could be so dramatic to cause a permanent split between the Balboa club?
  15. Bengtsson Stellan (Sweden) - 70!

Well I started this thread because I had a question, and I think it is more or less answered. He chose to live in America because his wife is American, and because he can still do some level of TT coaching in America (even if he would be qualified to coach even stronger players). I'm not buying...
  16. Bengtsson Stellan (Sweden) - 70!

Now you are contradicting yourself. First you say that the reason for choosing USA is because of his wife. This makes perfect sense to me. Now you are trying to argue that his school has world class elite players and that USA is a top choice for coaching elite talent. Anyways, I'm glad that...
  17. Bengtsson Stellan (Sweden) - 70!

Well certainly, if your wife is from Kirghizstan, then there is nothing unusual about moving to Kirghizstan. So that is a perfectly reasonable reason to move from a hotbed nation to a non-hotbed nation. I didn't "think", as you say, that his primary consideration was TT. I just had no other...
  18. Bengtsson Stellan (Sweden) - 70!

Hey I'm not criticizing him at all. If he finds joy and fulfillment from training American TT players, then I wish all the best for him. I just think its slightly unusual for him to choose a place that is not really a hotspot for global TT when he could have chose Germany, France, etc. Imagine...
  19. Viscaria great for the backhand

I think Viscaria is slightly more head-light compared to HL5 (which is slightly head heavier). Maybe this makes Viscaria more suited for shorter strokes like backhands, flicks, etc. HL5 relies on bigger swings and bigger power where the momentum kicks in.
  20. Viscaria great for the backhand

equestrian, horse racing. maybe motocross, nascar, etc. The whole reason all the auto companies got into running their own race teams is to try to show that their engineering is the best. See the film Ford vs Ferrari.
