Some good matches against Kenta Matsudaira who back in the day used to be the sheet. I quite enjoy this kind of style playing against 2 winged attackers. It's very entertaining if one knows what is going on.
Nexy Etika and Etika Pro, Nittaku Hammond Z2, Neottec X5, Mizuno Q Quality, Q Power, Q1, Mantra Pros, Mantra Control, Mantra Spin, Juic has some veeeeeeeery obscure rubbers.
I don't know about short pips or long pips, that is a shitfest anyway.
D
Did you boost that D05? It just looks boosted with the pips being so visible. The problem is the booster is kind of a glue solvent so if the glue doesn't endure the booster it can get liquidy and detach.
I guess you need to change glue and reglue the rubber. DHS No15, Sueke No2 are very good...
Thinner sponged rubbers have a harder feel. So a 2.1mm Dignics or whatever will feel softer than a 1.9mm or 1.7mm of the same rubber.
A thinner sponge can absorb less energy, so if you get a slow but very spinny ball it will react less to the spin, that could be considered beneficial if someone...
Well yes I agree it defeats the purpose. I genuinely don't advise anyone to buy the German made glues unless they glue their rubber once and only remove once they are worn.
Only on Taobao can you find it for that price. Or TT-Japan is pretty similar.
I guess G09c vs Mantra Pro XH. G09c is lighter about 10%, it is softer too, ofc it is tacky while Mantra Pro is not. G09c has a wider range of speed, it is very very slow on passive shots, but it's fast and bouncy...
I just switched new rubbers to the blade, new Mantra Pro M and for the forehand I stuck a Polestar P, I'm also curious how the blade is like with a sticky Chinese rubber.
It can replace Z2 and more.
68g uncut.
Bouncy but not spin sensitive, it's like a boosted G-1, but it likes power shots like T19. It performs great in all weather conditions, hot, cold, dry, and humid. Durable as hell and it's not boosted at all so it will be the same until you replace it...
I get the appeal of using 2 H3N on a HL5, and they work well if they are boosted but Hovering Dragon is such a pleasant rubber to use. It's pretty fast, can do enough spin and it's a blocking champ. (I'm a lefty so for me it matters a lot)
The Hovering Dragon doesn't have that nasty bounce in...
Use paint thinner or booster on it. It will make the glue softer and you can remove it easier. Paint thinner is probably the best option since it evaporates quickly and it is more 'aggressive'. After let to rubber air for a few days so the nasty smell is gone.
On another note I have bought a...
Yasaka Hovering Dragon is a great BH rubber, not cheap, not tacky, but medium hard, light, awesome grip, and easy use. Pretty bouncy too with the Japanese sponge under it.
If you're buying from Japan already you can get the Mantra Pros from TT-Japan really cheap. The Medium is just like a FTL boosted G-1, and the XH is making most tacky rubbers pretty obsolete without being tacky. I'm sure it pairs with all your mentioned blades well but I would most likely pair...
I see your point in leaving the racket on the table. I skimmed through the rulebook regarding the racket but didn't read it through fully nor am I a lawyer to pick it apart.
But still, I want to be the devil's advocate here and say I can change the weight at the table between sets in about 5...
Since Stiga now has its easily swappable weights in some of their blades I have been thinking maybe it would be beneficial to swap a heavier weight against defenders since I would prefer a more heavy racket over a light one. I understand before the match starts I can swap any weight but in case...
