  1. Tabletennis11 expensive

Pre Brexit it was cheaper to buy BTY from Europe, the BTY EU store will still sell to the UK, so BTY will sell across borders as far as the UK is concerned. But it’s way more expensive!! Now post Brexit, it’s appearing to be a cheaper option to buy from UK official BTY shop, mainly due to VAT...
  2. How to learn backhand long pips chopping

Not being a long pips player, I’m no expert on them, but as they are usually pretty frictionless, I would think that the amount of spin imparted by LP’s is usually more dependent on the incoming spin already on the ball?? If you are chopping a no spin ball, then your spin is likely to be light...
  3. Boll Allround Wood + Sriver combo opinion needed

Roundell and Rozena, never used either!!! But have played against both, which is sometimes as important as using them because you experience the end result, ie speed, spin etc Everyone has commented on them!! Either would be a good rubber to start off with!! Rozena will give you more speed and...
  4. New Color of Good Rubbers

Correct, orange isn't allowed because balls can be white or orange, they have tried to make sure that there is a good contrast of colour between rubber and ball etc.
  5. Moaning

Grunting, groaning is a means / way of activating your 'core' muscles. that's why Tennis players started doing it years ago. We do it naturally sometimes, without thinking about it or actually meaning to, when you are pushed, using more power for movement and playing a harder stroke, it just...
  6. New Color of Good Rubbers

Myself being a bit of an EJ, I bought a couple of new colour rubbers and 1 red sheet, in the Black Friday sale at TT11, 30% off so okay deal !! last night I played with a blue Donic Bluestorm Z2, it played very nicely!! haven't used this rubber before so can't comment on whether it plays as per...
  7. New Color of Good Rubbers

Andro R48 in Green, not sure if R53 & R45 are available in green. I think Donic Bluestorm Z1, Z2 & Z3 are all available in blue. Joola CDM, ACC, ARG - Purple(Violet) Tibhar Quantum X Pro - Pink & Blue Some shops just don't seem to have many in stock, perhaps waiting to see how sales go...
  8. i need explanation

As Carl mentioned, there could be many reasons that contribute to the ball oversailing the table with the PG5 combo. Similar blades with a different composition such as the Nittaku Acoustic all wood and Nittaku Acoustic inner carbon make a good comparison of how the carbon can change the blades...
  9. Bfly too expensive, rubber advice please

ESN rubbers have been catching up with the Japanese-made rubber for a few years now. There are ESN rubbers that can be as good or even better than the Japanese-made ones and they are sure way more affordable. above taken from Yogi's post - #1 Joola Dynaryz ZRG & CDM rubbers.
  10. Thinning Revolution #3

That was something else i was going to mention!!! usually any glue i have is used pretty quick, it's the EJ bug!!!!
  11. Bfly too expensive, rubber advice please

In a recent thread Yogi mentioned that there are now other rubbers that could be considered as better or if not, at least equal to the 'market leaders' offerings (Butterfly). trade off is cost v durability.
  12. Are ESN rubbers necessarily bad and expensive?

There are many reports of drop offs in some rubbers performance over time, whether this drop off is easily identifiable for many players is another question. A sharp rapid drop in performance would be easy to identify, but a slow gradual drop off over say 3 months or more is going to be harder...
  13. Thinning Revolution #3

I think Revo no3 glue is available in 3 viscosities / thicknesses, so you can choose a thinner more liquid version if necessary. As Yoass says, you should be able to thin out some using water.
  14. How do I improve?

Generally when training, at present, warm-up is usually 2-3min of FH to FH slow drives and 2-3min of BH to BH drives, then 2-3mins of FH loop to blocker and swap, then similar for BH. This is the ONLY 'STATIC' routines we do, then we move on to some 'SET' routines (of which there are many...
  15. Dwell Time and Throw Angle: Are These Terms Even Useful

Imagine suspending a sheet of rubber / sponge without adding tension, and see how high the ball would bounce. Do the same with a same sized piece of plywood. Which would have the higher bounce? If you added tension, similar to how a trampoline is set up, to the sheet of rubber / sponge, which...
  16. Dwell Time and Throw Angle: Are These Terms Even Useful

I don’t think ‘absorbs is the right term, ‘rebounds’ or ‘deflects back maybe better?? A ‘trampoline’ situation. For the sponges to work, they need something hard behind them as well. Something to compress against. BB Does a harder material deflect back more energy and absorb less energy?
  17. How to clean

An ‘antique patina’ is a thin surface layer that develops over time and is a sign of use and age and increases value!!! Whether this applies to TT blades???? Like Carl, I prefer a ‘dirty’ handle and battered look!!!
  18. Dwell Time and Throw Angle: Are These Terms Even Useful

Engage the blade, Is this a ‘feely’ thing again? whether the blade is engaged scientifically is another thing. I think that when the term ‘hitting through the rubber’ is used people are meaning that the rubber and sponge has been compressed to an extent that it ‘feels’ harder, almost as if the...
  19. Dwell Time and Throw Angle: Are These Terms Even Useful

A few questions and thoughts!!!!!!! 1) Does the blade surface compress?? Surely this must be extremely small, probably zero? 2) Does the rubber/sponge act as a ‘damper’ ? Stopping some of the force from actually reaching the blade? The Flex of the blade shown in BB’s video clips definitely...
  20. New Setup

Brs has a good point!!! R53 is fast and not as forgiving to stroke errors, if you don’t like T05 on the Viscaria, then it’s likely to be similar for R53. Never tried a Carbonado 45 (C45) but maybe that will be quicker than the Korbel, possibly similar to VIscaria for speed or a tad quicker...
