  1. what is my playstyle?

A Gundog !!!!!!! They fetch and return birds etc that have been shot. So in table tennis terms, its a player that will pick up balls and keep returning them to you, not necessarily in an attacking fashion, sometimes better known as 'fishing'
  2. DHS Skyline 3 Provincial 40' (blue sponge)

Haha!!! I just got an Acoustic inner back from MOG that I lent to him to try out!!! Along with a sheet of RakzaZ, he’s definitely not dropped the EJ bug!!!
  3. DHS Skyline 3 Provincial 40' (blue sponge)

I tried it boosted, alongside provincial H3 37 degree, which was boosted as well. I found the Skyline to be a little faster. This was at least 6 months ago I think. I gave it a run out about 3 weeks ago, so booster has worn off, still played well, but speed was back down. Still a tad faster than...
  4. Tenergy 09C and Tenergy 05N

Tackiness - Spin Art - Aibiss - D09C, these are BTY's 'tacky' rubbers. also roughly in order of oldest to newest. If you want to save some money, try Spin Art before D09C, its pretty similar, although different!!! Aibiss is BTY's version of H3 but over priced!!!
  5. DHS online store in Europe?

Ask 'harty' he posts on here and I think this his his on-line store!! I've bought a few items from DHS-729 great service, all products legit.
  6. what tt brand do you think is the best and why, then the same for the worst brand

Some people like to 'Cherry Pick' equipment from different brands, or have bespoke blades made for them. I'm sort of in that group. I like trying different equipment, bit of an EJ!!! although this has really slowed down over the past few months as the new club league season has just or is about...
  7. re-visiting Neo Hurricane 3, provincial 37 and 38 degree

Yep ability comes into it, so does expectations v reality!!!! and a sheet of H3 National for €80 or so is way more attractive than €200,000+ for a car!!!!!!!
  8. Rubber suggestion

When I tested T05 and T19 I liked both rubbers. I found both to be good for loops, blocking and flatter hits. And for me, T05 was really good for chopping, but away from the table slightly. short game - pushing is a little harder because the sponge / top sheet combo is very bouncy. Good touch is...
  9. re-visiting Neo Hurricane 3, provincial 37 and 38 degree

There are 3 ‘grades’ of H3/H3Neo and some other DHS rubbers like Skyline 3. ’commercial’ which is your bulk standard H3/H3Neo, less quality control. Sheets can vary more. ’provincial’ better quality control, can has less tackiness but you are more likely to get more consistency between different...
  10. D09c vs H3Neo vs Rakza Z

Butterfly, produced Tackiness D and C first, around the late 70’s early 80’s, these were as tacky as D09C, not sure how tacky they are now. But new sheet back then held ball for about 1 to 2 seconds. Sponge was fairly hard but not a spring sponge. Slower rubbers, better spin than the original...
  11. D09c vs H3Neo vs Rakza Z

D09C is barely tacky, Rakza Z is 'semi tacky', H3 Neo has the most tackiness of the 3, but there are some rubbers that have as much or more tackiness. The 'hard dead sponge' of H3 neo isn't the only factor that makes it slower, the level of tackiness has to be taken into account as well, having...
  12. Rubber hardness

Hi BB, Do all durometers have points? Or are there ones that have a larger flat surface area? Cheers
  13. Just tried a H3Neo, so disappointed

Equipment reviews are definitely dependent on skill level, totally agree. so much equipment is also very similar, in the same ball park, with differences that sometimes will not really be noticed. Having said that, there’s still a place for equipment reviews, if you can’t try a product, test it...
  14. What do you guys do with old rubbers?

Keep some of them, give some away, use on spare training bats for newcomers, so they can see the difference between a 'shop bought' lesser quality bat and one the better quality rubbers. Rarely throw away, unless I damage them when removing from a set up in haste so i can glue on the latest...
  15. Rubber hardness

As Igor said, generally 2 scales of hardness, Shore A and O. although there are manufacturers that use their own scale or a different one, Then they sometimes refer to the sponge as, Hard, Mid-hard, Medium, Medium Soft etc Sponge hardness does not always reflect how a rubber/sponge combo...
  16. Just tried a H3Neo, so disappointed

A rubber such as Andro R53 has a hard(ish) 53 degree bouncy sponge, and a soft feeling grippy top sheet. this rubber requires a much better and consistent technique than the R48 version. R53 is not as forgiving, in that the PLAYERS CONTROL of the bat has to be better, So Andro's adverts for the...
  17. Some advice please

For flatter hitting I feel that there are some better alternatives to H3 / H3 neo etc. Putting some spin on is always an advantage, as the topspin pulls the ball back down onto the table. With H3 etc I find you have to be more precise when flat hitting, its not H3's best attribute, brush looping...
  18. Return backspin

I think that LP can impart some spin on a no spin ball, but this is fairly limited as Der says. LP characteristic is to rely on opponent’s spin and send it back to them. So yep, a backspin serve returned by LP will go back with topspin, the spin hasn’t changed, just the direction the ball...
  19. Butterfly Aibiss

I thought that Aibiss was BTY’s sort of attempt at getting close to H3 etc, unfortunately it isn’t quite as fast, has less spin and is at least twice the price!! Enough said!!!
