  1. Butterfly Innerforce ALC.SOFT vs. Innterforce ZLC

The catalogue says it's the same, but the blade matrix has 2 different dots for them both (they are clearly happy to use the same dot if necessary, as shown by other blades). I asked Butterfly for the make up of the bat and received this..... Sorry again, but we never disclose the exact blade...
  2. Forum format

TTD certainly has it's own identity - But I very rarely look at anything other than the forum (not sure how other people use it). For me, I think discussion and participation would be higher with an easier forum format. Whilst the Discourse forums can end up looking a little similar, you can...
  3. Butterfly Innerforce ALC.SOFT vs. Innterforce ZLC

For anyone following this, I’ll be getting the Harimoto ALC as soon as it is available (release date is April 1st, so unless anything changes with that, I’ll be getting it shortly afterwards). Harimoto ALC is thicker than IF ALC (which is thicker than ALC.S). Although I doubt there’s too...
  4. Forum format

The last 2 examples are Discourse based forums - It takes very little time to get used to, and is very clean and slick. There is also a “dark theme” option for people. It works perfectly across desktop and mobile, and is so easy to use!
  5. Forum format

I think “fine” probably about covers it - Especially in comparison to the others. I just wondered how much effort/cost there would be to migrate it to Discourse. I’d genuinely be happy to pay if it was possible, because I really don’t like the mobile experience at all.
  6. Forum format

Hey all, What are people’s thoughts on the software for this forum and MYTT? I’m a member of a number of online forums, and most of them use Discourse to host it, which is by far and away the best forum software I’ve used. I find MYTT pretty much unusable now (slow and constant errors), and...
  7. Hard European topspin rubber

Yeah, I find the touch better on serve return and short pushes, and I much prefer it in the counter top spin loop game. But it there really isn’t that much in it (not as much as most people expect anyway).
  8. Marvellous 12 2019

    Very well explained!
  9. Hard European topspin rubber

Oh, I get that. I think my point was more to do with the fact that this abundance of options we are presented with, only benefits the very elite who can really narrow down each little option. 99.9% of people on these forums talking about blade weight, rubber hardness, top sheet...
  10. Marvellous 12 2019

Wouldn't it make more sense for CNT to decide the 4 who are picked first, and therefore don't need to play the Marvellous 12? That way you wouldn't have a potential pick finishing 8th (for example), in the M12, yet still being picked....... Appreciate it would seriously diminish the quality in...
  11. Hard European topspin rubber

That's good info! I'm not someone who has ever concerned themselves with the particulars of EJ'ing - I generally use a blade I like the look of (providing it's in the "ballpark" of what I want) - I don't worry about the weight of blade (or rubbers) either. As for the rubbers, I've never once...
  12. Hard European topspin rubber

I’d love to see an independent measurement because MX-S felt much harder from memory.
  13. Hard European topspin rubber

I could be wrong, but it certainly feels softer thank MX-S, but it’s possible my memory is playing tricks. There isn’t a wild difference beteeen T05 and T05H to be perfectly honest. Butterfly has the sponge down as 43 degrees. But not sure if they use the same measurement system...
  14. Hard European topspin rubber

MX-S would get my vote. If you want something softer, T05H would be the next best.
  15. New Table Tennis Equipment 2019

I'd hazard a guess this is to do with more pro's moving towards harder sponges (people buying what the pro's buy), and an adaption to the plastic ball (people's technique evolving to favour the harder sponge).
  16. Hurricane 3 Provincial unboosted playable?

Boost. H3 un-boosted is terrible. Or just stick with H3 Neo if you like it.
  17. Chinese Wrist Method for better F/H Topspin

Like I said on MYTT, this was how I was coached as a junior 15 years ago in the UK. It isn't new, it isn't specifically Chinese - It's quite common amongst coaches and high level players.
  18. Advice needed for blade and rubbers

I'd really need to see a video before making suggestions. I'd be tempted to down the Chinese hybrid route to give you good spin and control, with a bit of speed. Something like the Yinhe Venus 3 for £15 would be a good place to start. https://www.ttequipment.co.uk/product/yinhe-venus-3-rubber/
  19. Advice needed for blade and rubbers

Without seeing you play, it's very difficult. The things I'd take into consideration are.... 1. How many hours per week do you play? 2. What is your standard - Can you loop easily on both wings? 3. Budget? 4. What are your most common mistakes with your existing rubbers?
