Thorntons are great - Ordered loads from them before. Surprised they aren't answering though - Which number were you calling?
  2. Butterfly Asics vs Mizuno Wave Drive Sizing

Out of curiosity, are you normally a UK9 in TT shoes or general shoes? I'm a UK12 in most trainers, but wore a UK11 in Butterfly TT shoes.
  3. Butterfly Asics vs Mizuno Wave Drive Sizing

It's the length which is the issue for me - It would annoy me having so much room at the end. Hopefully tomorrow will bring the right size!
  4. Butterfly Asics vs Mizuno Wave Drive Sizing

They were (some of them at least) - But not anymore. At the price they are, I'd want someone as good as Asics making them - I'm not prepared to spend that cash on Butterfly own shoes.
  5. Butterfly Asics vs Mizuno Wave Drive Sizing

Hey guys, I looked extensively for info on this, and had really mixed opinions which didn't help. I have worn Butterfly Energyforce VIII for the past few years, and had stuck with Butterfly shoes before that. I'd always ordered a UK11 (even though in 99% of all other trainers/sneakers I'm a...
  6. Doubles Rules

So even in that scenario, game 2 couldn't be Y serving to B?
  7. Doubles Rules

Hey guys, This one gets brought up at least once a season, and I can't find the definitive rule! in doubles, at the change of ends, can the serving team decide who serves first, or does it have to be the person who received the ball in the first game. Subsequently, can the team serving first...
  8. 10 years out of the game - Equipment?

Hey XO21 - Welcome back. Sounds like you have followed my footsteps - I had a 10 year break (bar 1 season), and came back to the sport last year. Again, like you, I used Bryce (with speed glue), before the ban, but I did have a quicker blade (Schlager Carbon). Regarding rubbers - Tenergy is...
  9. USA Table Tennis

It's also worth noting that whilst it appears the UK is doing fantastically well (we have a solid league infrastructure, and the bronze at the Worlds was way beyond expectation), the harsh reality is, that it just doesn't provide enough money for most (as noted by others here). Even the top...
  10. Blade Lacquering, i haven't done this ,should i and why?

I used to in the speed glue days, but not anymore. I personally find that a lacquered blade doesn't hold the rubber as easily. As as long as you are using the new water based glue, and peeling off carefully, you'll be OK.
  11. Looking for table tennis club at Sunderland, UK

Miah, The original post was from 2013. If he still wants to play TT.... He might be a bit stiff lol. If you are looking for TT news/clubs, check this out - https://www.tabletennis365.com/Middlesbrough/News
  12. Biggest Downfall of the Plastic Ball

I'm not sure where I said it'll increase injuries? Although if you class "arm ache" as an injury, I suppose that counts! Dan mentioned the injuries, I just mentioned having to do a bit more with the ball to generate the spin. I stand by my comments that for me, and my style of play, it hasn't...
  13. Biggest Downfall of the Plastic Ball

To start off with, I'll echo the sentiments of the others. My main gripe is the HUGE differences in playing characteristics between the balls - I play in 4 different leagues in the UK (there's around 8-10 teams in each League), and pretty much every individual team uses a different ball. There...
  14. Table tennis in eastbourne UK

If you ask at your club, there will be plenty of people who will help.
  15. Recruiting for Table Tennis Players!

Hey Vuong, played local and national over the past 15 years :)
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I don't think you are trying to hide your faults, and I may have missed some videos you've posted (I've only seen the one of you in jeans) - I didn't mean your footage wasn't honest, it was more of a saying than anything else. Considering your input into this forum, the only thing holding you...
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Arch - I don't post a huge amount, but I try and read as much as I can. I think your willing to improve and learn as much as you can about the game is admirable. If you lived in a different location, I'm sure you would be improving on a daily basis. I think the biggest issue seems to be around...
  18. Tibhar EVO MX-S vs The Tenergy Club!

Hey guys, This is more for historical questions and to save future threads! I've been playing with a ZLC blade (Garaydia), with T05 on the forehand, and T64 on the backhand. I've been looking at alternatives to Tenergy since the price increase in the UK, with the obvious Evo Range being well...
  19. What is the best alternative for Tenergy 64?

Assuming it's price (let's be fair, with Tenergy..... 99% of the issues are price related!), I would look at Tibhar MX-P. MX-P is the middle ground between T05 and T64 (but closer to T64 than T80 is....).
