  1. Should ittf take additional measures to slow the game down?

I agree. Balls are hit harder and closer to the table but are also a bit easier to return by top players. For some time the super modern harimoto style with flipping every return and super close table attack seemed to take over but players adjusted to this a little and now fzd for example dialed...
  2. Should ittf take additional measures to slow the game down?

I think he was talking about return of serve errors
  3. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Yeah that seems to be a style that works not at the highest level anymore but ages pretty well, he zhi Wen and ni xia lian were top 100 in the world at over 50 years old. Until 2000 points or so any style can probably work anyway as long you master it well.
  4. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

I got myself a cheap cpen blade because I like to try it out. Forehand and serve work well already but backhand still struggles a bit.i can hit rpb topspin but not consistently. Would you recommend learning TBP block and drive and rpb for spin (like ma lin) or do everything with rpb side like...
  5. Light rubbers

There are special rackets made for kids. Maybe you go to a table tennis shop to get one.
  6. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

What can help is not focusing so much on winning the match but focus on playing with as much quality as you can. If you play well but you lose you shouldn't be pissed.
  7. how to efficiently brush the ball during a serve ?

Take it with a grain of salt as I'm not a high level player but what has helped me was keeping the bat low in the take back of the serve. Basically if you watch the pro guys the don't swing a lot high to low but they swing pretty horizontal and get the spin more by hitting the underside or side...
  8. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Read this old post by coincidence. I wonder what happened to him? Was good as a junior but really nothing about him the last two years.
  9. What rubbers should i get for DHS H301x ?

I agree. Semi pro to me is an almost pro level player that can't quite make a living on table tennis maybe like number 300 in the world ranking or so. What he described sounded more like an "advanced intermediate" level player.
  10. Blue Hurricane 9 rubber coming 2022

What kind of rubber is hurricane 9? Never heard of this, is it like h3 or more like h8?
  11. Why does this happen when gluing?

I would also guess either old glue or glue that has been stored badly (either too cold or too hot for example when staying in a car for a too long time). I don't think the brand is the issue here.
  12. Ranking of european leagues

Isn't Russian League also pretty strong, at least the top teams? Orenburg has won the champions league a few times
  13. Should ittf take additional measures to slow the game down?

Chinese domination is a problem that causes a decline of TV ratings and western money in the sport but the reason for Chinese domination is certainly not exclusive h3 versions but better and more training and especially selection of better talent. Table tennis for example is quite popular in...
  14. Should ittf take additional measures to slow the game down?

Ittf did some measures to slow the game down in the last years, namely the ban of speed glue, bigger ball and ban of celluloid ball. The goal was having longer rallies and a more attractive game for viewers? Do you think that this was a success and is enough already? Or has the development of...
  15. Dang Qiu

Couldn't in theory a player do both and have the two winged topspin attack like dang and Felix and still enjoy advantages in short game and maybe serve game?
  16. Dang Qiu

Yeah I think lebrun is the biggest problem talent for penhold out there. I think dang and Felix are very important for the future of penhold game. If one of them developes Into a "semi threat" to the Chinese (say like Dima or Timo level who are not quite a threat but good enough to be taken...
  17. Dang Qiu

I think a disadvantage of modern penhold is passive backhand play, especially backhand block close to the body. TPB is actually strong there but RBP block really isn't but you can't really switch quickly between RBP block and TPB block. MA lin mostly played TPB especially on passive play and...
  18. Dang Qiu

Dang seems to have improved quite a Bit, recently beating Falck and kanak jha easily in the bundesliga. He only made second round in the worlds but went 7 sets again liang jingkun. he is not super young of course at 25 so his upside is probably a bit limited but I think he could reach like...
  19. 729

I have used focus snipe for BH. I think it is pretty good for beginners on BH, speed and spin is pretty vanilla and not dangerous for opponent but blocking is easy and you have a lot of safety in shots. Rubber is not tacky either.
