Hurricane 3 neo are meant to be boosted. You can choose the lowest degree on the market, if you are not willing to do it though.

I would say if you do worry about the chemical stuff, then don't use the rubber.

Neo version has 2.2 rubber sponge? Maybe commercial version? As far as I know, there is not much difference between 2.15 and 2.1. If you like boosting rubbers, 2.1 mm will be a better choice.

Orange sponge is more flexible than blue sponge, blue sponge is harder (same degree), more aggressive, throw angle is lower, ball drops more quickly, when it hits at the other side of table.

Recently there is a 36 degree provincial version selling on the market. Softer and has more dwell. Good bh rubber with booster.

Yours is non neo version, which only allows to use speed glue. Your friends one is neo version I guess. But need to take close look of the serial number.
