  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

You're probably right. I've experienced this every time I've tried to get a bit heavier of a setup and immediately switched back. I always thought it was my twig-like properties that made the heavier raquet's stroke lag behind the rest of my arm and forarm.

Sounds like I'm just weak ;( time to try bulking up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@der When you made your beast mod did you find you paddle lagging behind your stroke for a while until you adjusted to the weight? Or did you not have issues with the weight. I'm using something significantly heavier than I'm used to, but still light compared to most players. And I found...

  6. Black edgetape?

There is a block button. The thread I spend most time in is daily table tennis chit chat. Kind of hard to derail a thread that's that open. If you don't want to see my replies add me to your ignore list. It's there for a reason Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Black edgetape?

The point seems to be lost. Someone asked a question which didn't get answered and was told that their question didn't matter. So I chimed in thinking he misunderstood the question. When the response to this felt aggressive toward me I got aggressive back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good laugh here, much better than my initial dumb joke. Thank you +1
  9. Black edgetape?

The original post asked if there could possibly be something else involved, but they speculated marketing. So Chuckjordan's question about only having 2 inches of tape on the raquet still applied to the original post that was questioning edgetape. Chuck's question had nothing to do with ambush...
  10. Black edgetape?

We look to you as a source of vast information. We don't know how you know what you know. And as a player who sees you as a "verified coach" I had made the assumption that you would know the answer to his question and maybe you had misread it. Sorry to offend. But maybe the misunderstanding...
  11. Ma Long or Zhang Jike, who 's your stake?

Yes, the only difference :) If decisiveness in tight situations were the same they would be playing mirror images of themselves. It would be games like dima's super deuce Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Black edgetape?

He's asking you to explain why the player has the black tape at all if he's only covering up a tiny bit of his raquet with it
  13. off-/off blade

My coach told me to hold the paddle like this because finger pressure during different strokes is so important. Never really though about it giving whip from the wrist. But for different parts of each stroke we need either the thumb or the index finger to be providing more pressure on the paddle.
  14. Black edgetape?

Reminds me of ZJK's filmed interviews in the past where he simply just doesn't care. Giving one word answers like "no", "sometimes", yes." Specifically one of the question's was do your tattoo's have any meaning behind them? "Yes" Do you care to explain the meaning behind them? "No"

Are westerners allowed to celebrate in anyway in your eyes when they earn a point? Or is just the word CHO off limits? How about a "Yes!" ?
  16. Branson Missouri, Any players within an hour of here?

Active isn't the word I'd use. 12 tables, only 3 were used. 5-6 players including me. Only open sundays. Tournament is ran smoothly.

I have a cold when I lose a match in table tennis. If I didn't I would never lose.
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I've preached for a while about how all wood blades are better than some fast carbon blade. And how developing players need to be more patient because they tense up, get excited and miss their kills or their timing is just too early all the time. I was talking about this a few months back with...
