  1. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

I haven't heard the Japanese girls explicitly say things like that their mission is to make sure Japan is the last country standing and that their mission is done once they have done that. Have you? Defeating China is something that every country is trying to do, nothing special at all. You...
  2. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

They speak of their goals and missions that ways, you can't male fun of people for agreeing with how you see yourself when you haven't been diagnosed with anything dangerous.
  3. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

Hmm... so you are telling me that I moved from using a rubber similar to what Darko Jorgic used to a rubber that no one I know uses (Rakza Z family) and now to a Harimoto rubber... not sure what to make of my EJing...
  4. Rakza Z and Rakza Z Extra Hard vs Golden Tango PS and Golden Tango

Looks like you had a crystal ball. Despite buying it, I didn't try Rakza Z deliberately - a friend gave me his Rakza Z EH sheets on his spare paddle and I tried them for a bit and noticed that the sponge color was wrong and that he had given me Rakza Z. The rubber isn't powerful but the spin...
  5. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

Everything is early in this competition, the seedings automatically set the draw. No easy opponents here. It will be the same when the men play in January.
  6. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

Diaz's backhand punch is her signature shot, but I think her creative and feeling game (including some potentially illegal/borderline serves) is overall underrated and that she can can win a match of serve/receive and consistency over other top women, especially when she takes special attention...
  7. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

This was the last meeting I believe - the set score doesn't show the degree to which the gap closed:
  8. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

More seriously, the draw has interesting matchups. Measuring how far Miwa has come in her lifelong quest to topple the CNT is one. Whether Hayata has any hope of beating a top CNT player not named Wang Yidi is another. Whether Shin Yubin is ready to challenge the bottom of the top is...
  9. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

At this point, it is all... pointless. :ROFLMAO:
  10. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

Joo is still going through the nationalization process in Korea which requires her to wait 3 years. before she is eligible to play the Olympics so she will end up missing the Olympics. Maybe there are other reasons, but they probably took the players who are a part of their current Olympics...
  11. Can you "quick-clean" your hybrid rubber with your breath and palms?

Yes, but if you don't use the sticky sheets, cleaning may help but not much. The main point is that using largely breath or water is pretty sufficient for cleaning, but if stickiness is the fear, the sheets are what do it. I haven't used more than water and my fingers in years after watching...
  12. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

I was wondering about this but I didn't follow up on my initial thoughts. This is ridiculous.
  13. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

People said the same thing when they played Shin Yubin early as well. Ultimately you can't say how best to develop a player until you have developed a few. Or you say what frame work is being violated. Exposing young talents to senior play is common. She also took a game off Hayata. And if...
  14. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

Easily the fastest player with only his compatriots coming close.
  15. Can you "quick-clean" your hybrid rubber with your breath and palms?

I play with sticky rubbers (Golden Tango. Razka Z, Rakza Z EH) and do this all the time. The cover sheets are what preserve the tack, not how you clean them. As long as you use the cover sheets to prevent dust and oxidation, they will stay sticky.
  16. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

This is IMHO clearly throwing the match while using it to collect information.
  17. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

Hurricane Hirano did not help calm discussion over not playing vs South Korea lol.
  18. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

He believes that Harimoto should be unbeatable given his results and growth trajectory as a youth. Anything short of that would validate his theory as long as the victories are not at majors.
  19. ITTF Mixed Team World Cup 2023, Chengdu, 12/4-10

Other than a few players from one country (China) in the TT landscape, who has won the big titles? Thanks.
