  1. Drills VS In Game

So I tried the suggested technique of not watching the ball after the first bounce and it worked, but its unnatural for me so I have to practice it. However when I'm in a rally I also tried to only watch the ball after my hit and then focus on the oponent (before the bounce on their side of the...
  2. Drills VS In Game

Again words of wisdom, I feel rushed 97% of the times and all of those are generally bad points.
  3. Drills VS In Game

T This genuinely might be game changing for me. Yesterday when I got into the ready position as soon as I served (~ around the first bounce) every time it was much easier to react/loop/block/whatever. I can’t wait to go tomorrow and do drills you proposed and focus on getting back in the...
  4. Drills VS In Game

After first bounce meaning after it hits your side of the table? Thank you will review this!
  5. Drills VS In Game

Y Yeah that is a subtle but an important difference. I'd also say it's super important to get back in the neutral position, so you can actually loop/push from both FH / BH. Otherwise, I find myself still in the "end of serve" position glued to the table and the point goes into the net.
  6. Drills VS In Game

Ok so folks a little update on this, I played local league last night and a highlight for me was that after serve if I do necessary footwork to get myself back a neutral position things usually flow a lot better (same for receiving the serve, get back to neutral position after recieving). So...
  7. Drills VS In Game

All great inputs, thank you all! This one specifically hit hard. It made me think "where do I lose 80% of points?" and once I really thought hard it comes down to two scenarios: 1. I serve underspin (my favorite type of serve, usually with sidespin on the BH) and I get back underspin and I try...
  8. Drills VS In Game

Yeah that makes total sense. Do drills that mimic in game of my particular level as opposed to the higher level drills.
  9. Drills VS In Game

So the flow is get really good at drills that I'm doing now, then do more realistic drills, then it shows up in game? :)
  10. Drills VS In Game

Hey folks, I'm finding that when I do drills (ie 2BH, 2FH etc) I do pretty decent. However when I play a match my footwork is worse then horrible. I was wondering how y'all work on "real life" footwork? One thing I am noticing is that I'm not watching the paddle & ball and have to remind...

Haha this was acter 48 hours 😬 And yeag as long as it doesn’t effect gameplay I am going to try and ignroe bubbles. Also for the comment that rakza does this more, you are right other rubber in this blade (xiom vega x) looks mostly fine (one little bubble or two)
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

On the other hand I got a new blade and glued my rubbers, but I do see these small bubbles (mostly on bh side). From researching its probably because I did not evenly apply the glue ( my third time ever glueing rubbers). Do you guys think it actually effects the game/rubber (in which case I...

All amazing info, thank you so much. Will definitely exercise my right better next time. My coach mentioned a similar thing, however it was my 4th tournament and I had no idea about the structure etx.
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

It was so annoying… she did not do it on purpose but the fact that I had to correct her and she kept counting the points is what was throwing me off. Good experience though
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Had a tournament today, played first match against a guy stringest in my group, I lost but played really well. Then played against a lady, she was doing illegal serves I had to tell her a few times but I was so annoyed at that point that it affected my game in a bad way. Im ustt 1050ish, after...
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Had a great coaching session today then a guy from the club showed up who is unranked but he is insanely good. Had a session with him, he explained how I am brushing the ball too much gave me a few tips and my fh has never been better tbh. It came down to my starting position, paddle being too...
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

That sucks :/ Hmm yeah, the guy in the vid says you don't need to boost it but again I have 0 experience with these rubbers haha I've been watching Matthias Falck A LOT recently. Really a joy to watch. Makes me want to switch to short pips on FH even though FH is my strongest weapon :D
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I have just coincidentally watched a video yesterday about battle 3 rubber and it seems pretty cool I never used friendship rubbers but I do like this guy and his reviews :)

Played local league tonight. Ended up playing against my coach in round robin. Played well, won 1 set, and other two were close-ish. He said I improved a lot and that it was a fun match, which was good to hear. Especially because he i currently rocking long pip / short pip setup. I won against...
