  1. Richtung Deutschland

We gotta ask Kurt Gödel for help - there will always be statements that are true, but that are unprovable within the system ;-) If anyone of you shall come to eastern Czech, Morava, I'd be honored to play with you and drink beer with you. And if you insist on making photos and videos, I won't...
  2. Sponge Hardness new Video

When I said "edges" earlier I actually meant "corners". So these are approx. 4x4 cm pieces of the rubber, and the measuring head of the durometer is 2mm. I never measured sponge only, I measure on the sponge (not on the top-sheet), but the rubber is whole. I think measuring on the top-sheet is...
  3. Sponge Hardness new Video

Weeelll, I have here on my table about 28 edges, cut from rubbers, some of them duplicated, and ehh, some of them I am not really sure anymore what rubber that is. Ich muss Ordnung bringen! Verdammte S...! I should have made an excel long time ago. Michael, make an excel, write the name on the...
  4. Sponge Hardness new Video

I got this one, for the similar price. In the context of the discussion - since each of us may tend to measure slightly differently, but each of us measures his own rubbers consistently, it is useful to get measurements from 1 person, about multiple rubbers. Because then you can relate them...
  5. Sponge Hardness new Video

All this time I was thinking I need to buy you one, to fulfill my dream of contributing massively positively to TTD!!!
  6. Richtung Deutschland

Many thanks to Erhan, Hasan, Ali, Jonathan and Sammy, for a cool training in Ludwigshafen. I hope to see you again, but unfortunately, it may take up to 3 years ;-) Cheers!
  7. Sponge Hardness new Video

You say you don't know why it matters, and in the next sentence you explain why it matters ;-)
  8. I'm currently in full EJ mode. What other rubbers should I try?

You seem to prefer bouncy fast rubbers, from rakzas that would be the Rakza 9.
  9. "wrapping" the ball.

    I admire your good will @turbozed ;-)
  10. "wrapping" the ball.

Sometimes players realize a little too late and then compensate during the stroke - bigger bat angle change.
  11. How Coaching Videos Should be Recorded

This is interesting, because I think I have an opposite problem. When I posted that video of myself (I'll post as soon as there is the feature [x] Show for registered users only (for new threads)), someone said that my back-swing is sometimes clumsy. This was a very valuable critique for me...
  12. "wrapping" the ball.

We speak about real concrete strokes, with real and deliberate bat angle change during those strokes. zeio posted videos of those strokes, the bat angle change is clearly visible, and it is also clear (for everyone except you) that it is deliberate. It is wanted, it is desired. PUNKT. The rest...
  13. Flicking with Fastarc G1

Everything is relative. G1 is 47-48, I like it on BH, not on FH. Now I've put C1 red and Battle 2 Nat H38 black on my friend's bat and tried it yesterday. C1 indeed is a bit softer than G1, the difference is not big. He'd be happy with G1 too, but I thought C1 might be slightly better now for...
  14. "wrapping" the ball.

Since I was last active here, a lot has been written here. I didn't have much time. Still I want to clarify something. We all see that TT players, profis or not, simply do change the angle of the bat during the stroke. I don't know why would someone dispute it, and I'll leave it at that. Stroke...
  15. "wrapping" the ball.

No, it's not my goal. If you refer to those 5%, it was meant jokingly. Also, I don't think one can feel it. I think it happens naturally, we don't have to "strive" for it that much. My goal is more that my movement is bio-mechanically natural and sound (hopefully no flame war on that). And e.g...
  16. "wrapping" the ball.

I don't know what is the error, but if we take that wrapping 2 deg during that 1 ms contact time, as established before. Imagine what height does the angle 2 deg on the length 2 m - the approx. distance from the hit to the net. That makes tan(2deg) * 2m = 7cm. And 7 cm height difference on the...
  17. "wrapping" the ball.

The wrapping speed is 2 deg/ms and contact time is 1 ms, so during contact we have "wrapping" 2deg. That on ball diameter 40mm is Pi*D*2/360 = 0,7mm. Now the ball contact area has diameter 15 mm (let's take 14 for now). And here is the 5% = 0,7 mm / 14 mm. Noone claimed FZD is trying to time...
  18. "wrapping" the ball.

The ball contact is not a point, take a new ball, make a hit, and you can see the area is like 15 mm in diameter. If the ball travels 72 km/h, it is 20 mm/ms. The hand can also travel that fast to give that impuls/speed to non-moving ball. Now FZD does some wrapping (pronation/supination, I'm...
  19. European Games 2023

Instruction can make you confused. E.g. when I was young I got told to add (or that it is what people do) a little wrist action at the contact, right at the contact time. I didn't know what and how to do it, and the bigger danger is that while thinking and focusing on "doing" it, you really mess...
  20. Are there any 42 degree+ hardness Chinese rubbers?

Yes, the paper tiger... When measured with Type O durometer, the BGC1 is like 55-56. The NH3PTB is 60, that is like approx. 43. But it's heavy, 15g cut heavier than H3 BS H41 - so be warned. The quality is supreme though.
