  1. Biggest Downfall of the Plastic Ball

You might want to try Gambler seamless 3 star ball. It's roughly a dollar a ball and plays great IMO. Hard to tell the difference between that and the XSF ball IMO. Our club uses it as our main tournament ball since it's relatively affordable and it's a 3 star. I like the ball a lot. Try it out.
  2. Biggest Downfall of the Plastic Ball

+1 Agreed. I'm kinda over talking about what's bad about them. Feel like it's getting to be old news. It didn't really need to happen but they made the switch. It's done & over with. I don't really see the point in complaining about them now. Just my 2 cents.
  3. Help what happened?/

Wow where to start. So many directions one could take this. 1st, Welcome to table tennis dsfdfsf321. The land of teaching you humility in finding out that there's always someone (actually a lot of people) better. No matter what level you're at, there will always be people who you can beat and...
  4. After Boosting Hurricane 3 neo

I use to wonder this myself. But after having numerous DHS rubbers bubble on me with applying booster directly to the sponge (and those were done with Falco Tempo booster. Not as strong as Falco Long), I suppose it's important. Think i once heard it slows down the soak in of that booster going...
  5. TT Ap : easily take note about opponent ?

+1 Notepad after matches to make thoughts. Video tape your matches and watch for later. Start a google sheet of your notes for next time. Boom. done.
  6. After Boosting Hurricane 3 neo

4 layers of flaco long? You're crazy. Based on my experience with DHS rubbers bubbling, I don't know how your topsheet hasn't come completely off the sponge by now. ;)
  7. Cheapskate EJ

I've played Chinese tacky rubbers for a long time and have hit plenty before with my buddy's T05. I'm not going to argue that the Chinese Tacky is better, although I prefer those topsheets, but I will say that I think the difference between the two is great exaggerated. More importantly to the...
  8. ESPN To Cover Women's World Cup

    This is fantastic news.
  9. TTDaily Members Show Their True Essence

Okay I'll play. Joined this board probably about a month ago. Like all the activity on here. I enjoy: - Table Tennis - Water Gardening - Video Games - Chess - Family time (wife & two young girls) I'm 37 and have been playing TT steadily since 2010. So I guess since I was about 31. I first saw...
  10. Reducing Spin on Your Serves

Brett Clarke is the best. I love his videos and his view points on service. I have for a while now had pretty spiny serves but as I have been video taping my service from a receiver's prospective, I have noticed that my serves are far too visible. The ball is clearly away from my body. Thus I...
  11. Match video: Thoughts please

+1 I didn't really see any serves that would make me afraid to over the table loop at all. Take the first attack on those easy ones.
  12. Match video: Thoughts please

Your opponent seems to be forehand dominant who pushes almost every backhand on service receive and I don't think his service game is all that great. 4:42 Why push? Looked like a high bouncing no-spin serve. Attack that. Instead he took control. However. 6:45 next 2 points. To me looks like...
  13. TT pet peeves?

lol wow some of these are just good and sad. Yeah I'm not really Mr Confrontational guy even though it might seem like it in this post. But vs won't pick it up guy, I would put a stop to that right on the first one and say "you can pick it up." and kick it back over to him. I would have no...
  14. What do you prefer? Chinese Rubber vs European Rubbers?

I prefer Chinese rubbers. I simply like the feel & grip tacky topsheets give. Furthermore, I play close to the table. I don't need more speed or power from the sponge. When I want to hit it hard, there's no problem with speed. If anything, I need something slower to keep me consistent. I've hit...
  15. TT pet peeves?

Players who warm up like they're playing points. You just get on with them and want to warm up. And they're trying to run you all over the table. SMH. I've even come across players like this in warmup before a match at a tournament. They're usually just uninformed. I don't waste energy chasing...
  16. How to Improve my Forehand Topspin

Agree with others that the form looks good. I have nothing to add technique wise that hasn't already been said. I think it's worth noting, and it's something I'm focusing on also, is are you working out? Lifting? Core work? Leg work? Power comes from the legs. You have good form. Now maximize...
  17. New setup syndrome !

Yep. The testing a new blade and/or rubber. Gets those endorphins rushing. You play loose can want to see how well you can spin it. It's fun. But don't be fooled. It's always a short-term thing from what I've experienced.
  18. Getting frustrated - I think I've damaged my progress

Funny you say this. I blogged about this very subject yesterday. I've done it too... But no longer. http://chroniclesofgossima.blogspot.com/ Consequently, I've seen my training partner, who has been playing with the same setup for the last 3-4 years take a fairly sizable lead over me in just...
  19. 2016 Asia VS Europe All-Stars Challenge

Is there some plastic two-toned ball or are they just playing with that old celluloid DHS two-toned ball from a few years ago?
  20. 2016 Asia VS Europe All-Stars Challenge

They make a plastic two-toned ball?? I knew there was a celluloid one the China league used a few years ago or so. I love the idea of it for the sport so people watching on TV can better understand just how much it plays a part in the game. It's great for slow motion replays.
