  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

If you want a good laugh, get a load of the size of this LP sheet I got from ttnpp. Guai Jiao Huang Special Large Pips. ridiculous. Not ITTF approved just as a heads up. The longest pips I've seen. I'll keep you all posted with my impressions.
  2. USA Table Tennis

I use to think it would take some American advancing far in to the Olympics is what it would take. The key would be to just get it on TV more. Because that's not very realistic at this point right now, I think the addition of more TT academies could only help. Get more kids playing.
  3. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I'm pretty sure that comment Tareq was responding to was completely lost on him.
  4. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

That's okay TareqPhoto. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself. I'm glad that you're superior to most of all the videos you see here on the last couple of pages. Sounds like you have a lot of self worth wrapped up in this game so good for you. You seem like a real classy guy. :) Truth...
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I like that. will keep that quote in mind. good stuff.
  6. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Been meaning to do this but got some footage from last night playing a club mate Xiao. While I want to say that I "should win" vs him based on experience, I know the trap you can fall into going into games thinking you should win because if you do that, then naturally there are matches you know...
  7. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

So recently I've been playing probably the weirdest style yet with good results. That's penhold with Long pips FH & Inverted BH. I use to play SP FH. I'm also trying to learn to drive or counter through topspin more with the LPs which is surprisingly not that far off from a controlled SP stroke...
  8. China Super League 2016 (CTTSL)

Wow Xu Xin with yet another choke job. He has to be all kinds of mind F-ed right about now. I've got to imagine within the super league when he's playing his opponents that they're coming at him with greater confidence now believing more & more they can win. The shine has worn off on this star.
  9. looking for good blade and rubbers to fit my game style

:) why are you playing penhold then. :p :P ... No but that's an honest question. Don't see to many defender penholders out there.
  10. How to improve fast

Are they really doing it the best? Or is it simply because they have a much larger sample size to select the best from? If you took their current training but cut their population down 50%, they'd essentially be equal to Europe. That's insane. Would they then have groomed FZD? Or Ma Long? Maybe...
  11. Leaked players equipment from European Championships 2016

A lot we can take from this. I find it interesting (and not all the surprising) that tin tin ho plays with Stiga royal. Apparently that's their fastest SP and one of the fastest around from what you'll see on tabletennisdb. I have a club member who has it and likes it a lot.
  12. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Sorry for double post. Forgot to post this. Chen Longcan shows us exactly how to do it. Same concept you're doing Oldschoolpenholder
  13. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

This is 100% how to do it IMO. Fingers have to be relatively cured on the back. If they're extended or stick out far on the back side of your blade, they'll get in the way too much. But this is how I twiddle. The middle finger is essentially what turns the blade. Keep at it and it will be quick...
  14. Gluing With Rubber Cement

+1 to carl. Yeah I've found the shrinking is pretty minimal. I don't even notice it much. I like how clean the rubbers & blade are when you pull them off. Both the blade & rubbers are perfectly good to go for the next gluing. Recently I've found the grip is so good with the rubber cement...
  15. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Sure NP. I accumilated a youtube playlist of twiddling LP penholders. Some with SPs. Some with Inverted on the other side. I think it's a fun, tricky way to play the game. 21 videos and counting as of right now. Big difference IMO from people who use LPs as a crutch (just stick it out there...
  16. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Lefty penholder. I'm 37. Started playing when I was 18. Played for 3-4 years while at college. Then didn't play until i was about 30. Been playing weekly since 2010. I'm more of a oldschool penholder with the TPB. I can RPB very comfortably and it's one of my stronger shots but during an...
  17. Killing spin

+1 That's a nice tip. I've never really though about it but it does seem to be true given matches I've played. But I've never consciously though about it. I will take that into account the next time I'm in a short push to push game where one person is waiting for the other to open up. Should...
  18. The muscles of table tennis players

Funny thing is that I saw this on the other forum and had hoped it would die there.
  19. Sweaty hands. Help me please

I don't have sweaty hands but if I did, I'd at least give it a try. If it's good enough for XX, it's good enough for me. ;)
  20. Sweaty hands. Help me please

Wristbands, towel off every 6 points. Outside of that, not sure what else you can do. Is your fitness level okay? Do you work out outside of TT?
