  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

You wouldn't believe how long it took me to learn to actually block with the proper posture and blade angle. Let's not even talk about the evolution from driving to looping. I wouldn't sweat it too much, if you haven't completely changed your stroke by tomorrow. ;)

NL, that sounds like a great opportunity. You'll be in the 2800's before we even know it! :p
  3. What did FZD say to Dan ??

Yeah, because it can't be "The sweet spot on this blade is so big, I can flick even touching down here."
  4. What did FZD say to Dan ??

Why would the flick be performed contacting lower instead of higher? I don't see the logic. Perhaps because this is a review, FZD was commenting on the blade.
  5. In a table tennis pickle

Take your robot and the biggest bucket of balls to the public table. Be sure to wear your CHINA shorts with Butterfly/CNT shirt and special CNT boxers and socks. If you don't own those, purchase them on credit. Maze headband is optional. Proceed to do robot drills for three hours. Let out a...

I get a lot of nets in the short game. I'd be lying if I said I'm aiming for them, but my pushes ARE low enough for it to happen, so... Better player gets more nets has some truth to it, I think.
  7. Trickshot: Coin Drop Serve

    He said be honest.
  8. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Probably what Boogar is talking about is taking short breaks between 8 seconds or so. If you look at the Chinese, they don't go all out for minutes. They hit 10 - 20 balls, rest a few seconds, hit 10 - 20 balls etc. Probably the logic is that if you do one round of multiball for too long...
  9. "Deadest" blades out there?

I can see where you're coming from, but I think it will have some side effects that maybe you won't like. To achieve the dead feeling, you can't just "make" a blade dead like you can't just "make" a car's ride comfortable or a daily appliance more economic to produce. There's bound to be some...
  10. Cho!

I can't read mandarin, so it's very well possible that it's just a pronunciation. I'm 100% sure that when I've heard cho being used, it has meant a ball or sphere. This is in a non-table tennis context. However, no dictionary brings it up as "cho" no matter how you try to search it. You're...
  11. Cho!

"Cho" means quite literally "ball" in Mandarin. "Hao" is good, so "hao cho" would be "good ball". You're probably talking about "cho le". Google "Mandarin le" and you might find a good explanation of why it's used. I really don't know much mandarin at all.

Cornel, Dan can use whatever he wants because he is semi-pro. I'm just giving a reminder that top end carbon blades are indeed top end carbon blades, made for pros. Yes, some are made with lower level amateurs in mind, but the point still stands, don't you think?
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

We do need to remember that top end carbon blades are literally made for 2700+ professionals.
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

From my perspective, I would change equipment when I feel that I can benefit from it and my style is developed enough in the direction I want to warrant the shift. It'd be idiotic to change to a high end blade on high end rubber right now at this moment and try to adapt my style. It'd make more...
  15. Tenergy price gone up??

Is there a practical reason why everyone doesn't just buy H3 and boost the hell out of it, because it's supposedly much better than Tenergy if seasoned and served correctly? :p
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

It's funny because that shot looks like it went deep BH to middle of the table because NL is so damn tall, but it is indeed wide BH to wide FH, and probably not as easy as it looks.
  17. Tenergy price gone up??

  18. Why you still choose this over this.

It's a joke, not an insult. I just found the source material and subject somewhat amusing. Like a physicist saying "Hey guys, did you hear about this thing called GRAVITY???!!!"
  19. Ask Vladimir Samsonov a question on the TTD podcast!

Hey Vladi, do you have any tips on maintaining a high standard of play beyond the 30's?
