Just got words from Paris is that the heat is a huge problem for many players
shuttle bus is so hot, even with handheld electric fans.... the players are arriving at the hall all sweaty
well come to aircon free olympics
i'm not sure if officials are in the same "energy saving" games as the athletes.
I heard they tape the buses' windows shut too to help prevent terrorism or something. It's pretty ridiculous.

Who is this mysterious choker? If I win a string of points to get a lead, why can't the opponent win their own string to tie? Why is that choking lol?
Being up 7-1 and then losing the set is not choking? Or not being able to close the set from 10-8? (This second one is arguable). it’s choking and it clearly affects his mentality. He‘s making more and more mistakes

If he was the better player or truly on the same level as the opponent, sure. Truls is the better player so this kind of thing happens all the time, even in my matches, and neither myself nor my opponents are chokers.

It's a football crowd.

I love it! Best atmosphere I've ever seen at a TT tournament.
I once wrote somewhere here in another topic that we should move towards an atmosphere like in darts. It is starting to go the right way but there is obviously a lot of chauvinism involved.

Sure, in terms of mentality and perhaps experience he’s better but technique wise they are equal, and you can see that from Kao being dominant in the first third and then get dissected afterwards because he couldn‘t bear it mentally. if you’re capable of winning the match and you even have a significant lead but your mentality prevents it it’s choking. But you’re free to disagree
I don't know about them being equal technique wise, but I guess you are sold on it being choking. For me, it is tough to lose big leads, but you have to point to what easy shots he misplayed that he usually makes for it to be choking. Moreover the invisible things (processing the point, reading the play) are often more important than technique at the highest levels and Truls has an edge over many players there.

Sreeja was up 10-6 to Sun Yingsha and lost 10-12. Is that choking? Was Sun Yingsha choking when Sreeja got the lead?

Is Adam ever gonna commentate again at the Olympics? All this commentator does is telling what just happened 2 seconds ago. Doesn’t go into details, strategies, tactics, what the players could think about etc. some people on this forum would be better commentators

All commentary has disappeared for me over in the UK (discovery +). On the first day I had adam bobrow but nothing since. Sounds like I'm not missing anything

Not sure which stream you're listening through, but on NBC/PeacockTV, I've heard him a few times. Most recently, he was commentating on Hirano vs. Batra. Seems they're rotating commentators amongst sleepy voice lady whose name I don't know, Adam, and Don Parker.

Paris 2024 is more difficult than the past ones. 64 seeded players all start from R64, compared to R32 for Tokyo 2020, Rio 2016, London 2012, Beijing 2008, and Athens 2004.
