  2. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Tomo had a few moments, but Hina saved them to take the XD title over Lim/Shin.
  3. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

The Japanese women pull off the all Japan WS SF. Kihara single handedly took down S. Korea. Miwa and Miu take down Europe. And Hayata takes Taiwan.

Heartbreaker for Sora losing 12-10 in the 5th. He's due for one. Always a next tournament.
  5. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Both Hirano and Kihara through to the SF. Can we get an all Japan WS SF? We shall see.

Odo is quite the speedster. Nothing wrong with Hayata catching a breath. It looked like it was over after the 2nd game, but Odo showed that she's a fighter. Just a well played match from both.
  7. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Hayata vs. Odo now playing on T1 if you happen to see this post now. Satsuki's been playing really well so Hayata better bring her 'A' game.

H2H 3-1 in favor of Bernie. Bernie is the stronger player and not just in H2H. So it depends on whether Bernie can play to her true form which she displayed in her match with Lily. I actually don't think Lily played poorly. She just had a ton of trouble with Bernie's serve. Bernie knew what...

Bernie says nope .... it depends on me.

Odo/Yokoi win the T-League battle of NP Mallets vs. Kinoshita Abyell 3-2, 11-8 over Miwa/Hirano. Odo is a very smart player. Serving at 8-8 to Miwa, she does either a no spin or a kick serve fooling Miwa twice. I'm surprised Miwa didn't recognize it the 2nd time. Great match from both pairs.
  12. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Lily had a lot of trouble with Szocs tomahawk. She had the right idea looping it to the BH, but inexplicably the last two serves, she blocked it to FH for easy put aways for Szocs.
  13. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Tomo/Hayata advanced to XD SF. WCT/DHK lose in QF to Joo/Cho 3-2. Coming into this tournament, Tomo/Hayata only have a 70 pt lead so they will extend it with today's results.
  14. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

True, and there may be a bit of a mental barrier having a 1-4 record vs. Kihara prior to this. She actually did poorly after her timeout (same as Tomo). But, Kihara is a quality opponent.
  15. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Great match between Kihara and SYB. It was really a fight to the finish that could have gone either way.
  16. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Lily has to play Szocs who is no pushover.
  17. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Suh Hyo Won beats Doo Hoi Kem in a 3-2, 11-9 nailbiter !
  18. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Good effort from Jinnipa Sawettabut despite losing 3-2 to Zeng Jian. Her backhand is beautiful, but she needs work on forehand consistency. She fixes that, and I can see her as Thailand's no. 1.
  19. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Sora Matsushima has a difficult draw in the bottom half: Aruna -> Alexis Lebrun -> JWJ, but I'm picking him to win this tournament.
  20. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Agreed. CCY is always a tough competitor.
