Nagasaki is in both the WD and XD Finals. This is good for her. She can play a nice role in doubles at next year's World Championships.

It could be Sakura Mori's turn to win a Contender tournament. She took out a very good Lee Eunhye of S. Korea 3-2, 11-8. She's also still in the SF of WD with Miyu Nagasaki.

Lily played really well here despite the loss. Strong in the rallies. Forced Hina to back off more than she wanted. Lily is 27 now and has at least 1 more Olympic cycle in her especially since it will be in Los Angeles in the US.

I'm saddened that Hirano suddenly has no answers. Her push game has improved, but she's underpowered vs top Chinese. Not sure if entering so many tournaments is good for her even though I know she's trying to improve her ranking.

zeio's probably calling for Sora's retirement since he lost and is shorter than Miwa despite the what we see in photos.

I looked at it frame by frame, and I see no path deflection, but it's hard if not impossible to conclusively say one way or the other at the given camera angle. A real shame it had to end that way.

Now that I think about it, Miyu played brilliantly in XD a couple of hours before her Singles match. I wonder if she was drained emotionally and/or physically from the very tough match against the top seed XD pair because she seemed considerably slower in her singles match. She's going to need...

Would love to see Hirano win over WMY tomorrow. But even if she doesn't win, I hope she gets at least 1 game. China is really targeting her. Ever since beating WYD 3-0 at 2024 WTTTC, she has not scored a single game against the top 4: SYS 3-0, CM 4-0 and 3-0, WYD 3-0.

Not clear if Ma Long is injured or not. Zero Point Penalty applies for high leveltournaments if player is not injured. Speculating on my part, but perhaps he doesn't care about ZPP if he plans on retiring after Paris?

Fraser mentioned that both Lily and Adriana have been accepted in Chinese Super League. I think they also both played in India's UTT League last season.

As long as Lily was able to handle YJN's serves, she was winning a majority of the rallies. And clearly her backhand was superior to YJN. Had to keep her composure at the end after going from up 10-6 to deuce. Great win for USA's own Lily Zhang!
