  1. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

There is a good chance we see Miu/Miwa (Kinoshita Abyell) vs Odo/Yokoi (NP Mallets) in R16. It would actually be a good test for Miu/Miwa.
  2. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

The Miu/Miwa experiment is about to start if you happen to see this at the time of this post. They are playing the Wegrzyn pair from Poland.
  3. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Samara doesn't know what hit her. Odo just rolled right through her the 1st 2 games. Samara then overpowered her for the 1st half of game 3 going up 6-0, but Odo is both resilient and intelligent. With great placement, she tests Samara's footwork. BH flips both of Samara's serves. Fools...

  5. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

WS draws out. Not a great draw for Odo. First round is okay. She has Samara in R32 who I think she has a decent chance of beating. But R16 will likely be Hina Hayata. I was hoping she could get to a QF, but that seems unlikely now.
  6. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

A really good couple of wins by Jinnipa Sawettabut: Yuan Wan and then Natalia Bajor to make it to the Main Draw.
  7. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

I think Yokoi does a poor job of anticipating and then reacting to the next shot. This is where Odo is superior to Yokoi in that her style is very free flowing and can quickly adapt to her opponent. Plus, she is mentally stronger. Will be interesting to see if she gets more chances to play...
  8. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

Wow... very tough matchups in the opening round: Miwa vs. Joo Cheonhui and Kihara vs. SYB.
  9. 2024 WTT Contender Zagreb, Croatia June 3-9

https://worldtabletennis.com/eventInfo?eventId=2869 Main draw starts on Thursday, June 6. Day 2 of qualification stage already under way. Hiroto Shinozuka survives a scare down most of game 5 and Joe Seyfried up 9-7 with the serve. Shinozuka wins the next 4 points to advance to the next...
  10. 2024 WTT Contender Mendoza, Argentina 5/27-6/2

Good tournament for Japan and Taiwan. Not a good tournament for the Korean women. Japan won WS (Sakura Mori), XD (Nagasaki/Tanaka), WD (Mori/Nagasaki). Taiwanese women took 3 of the 4 WS SF spots with Liu Hsing-Yin knocking out 2nd seed Nagasaki. I guess if Nagasaki didn't lose, her good...
  11. JTTA: Selection System to be Revamped for Paris 2024

I think Hayata used game 3 to test out new serves. Her backhand serve in its current form shouldn't be used. It's too high, not enough spin, and easily attackable which both Lily and SYS had no problems doing. But I don't think she should abandon the BH serve completely as it's a good...
  12. ITTF/WTT problems reported from players

A number of these tournaments are running with just 4 tables. It seems like they would be able to reduce the number of days by 1 or 2 by using 8 tables, thus increasing the gap between tournaments.
  13. 2024 WTT Contender Mendoza, Argentina 5/27-6/2

Congratulations Sakura Mori and Miyu Nagasaki
  14. 2024 WTT Contender Mendoza, Argentina 5/27-6/2

Apparently, Cheng Hsien-Tsu has to play qualifiers tomorrow in Zagreb so had to skip WD. Huang Yi Hua also is listed for playing the qualification stage in Zagreb, but I guess the lure of potentially winning a WTT Contender in WS is worth it to her.
  15. 2024 WTT Contender Mendoza, Argentina 5/27-6/2

I don't know the circumstances, but I'm seeing this:
  16. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

The crazy thing is that her next tournament starts tomorrow and is in Croatia. Granted the main draw starts on the 6th, but the back and forth jet lag of travelling half way around the world has got to be horrible on the body: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil -> Chongqing, China -> Zagreb, Croatia. I...

  18. 2024 WTT Contender Mendoza, Argentina 5/27-6/2

Congrats to Miyu and Yuta. Miyu is quite photogenic.
  19. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

I would have no problem at all if Tanaka were to be selected for majors. I fully agree him beating WCQ is a great accomplishment. But that doesn't take away from the wins that Matsushima has had and his growth potential. Before much of MyTT lost most of its history, I recall that you once...
  20. WTT Champions Chongqing 2024

As you noted, Sora is standing further back so sure it's conceivable that he's slightly taller than Togami. I mean ~2 cm is not a whole lot. At one point, you said he was 165 cm. In any case, his height is not a limiting factor in his playing ability.
