"I would need to see a lot more to comment" At no point was I intending to imply that your footwork is dragging feet. Surely, the floor in the first videos also has a lot to do with it. I will try to find the videos to correct any wrong ideas I might have about your game. I've also explained...
  2. Why do you boost?

Don't mind me, just posting some relevant boosting content, like the last few posts.

@ttmonster Anyone of any age who is in decent shape can make it a habit to move effectively. I am mostly talking about widening the stance, footwork on the sides of the foot instead of on the soles etc. things that might really put a toll on an older person's knees for example. Not to mention...
  4. Serve Accuracy - Target practice

I had totally forgot about this. Next time I have a table for myself, I will attempt this.

Carl, you're supposed to modify your stance in real time to be able to play a good forehand shot and a good backhand shot without sacrificing anything. I would need to see a lot more to comment, but I am guessing that one of your habits is essentially walking to the ball instead of jumping to...

Do not underestimate the potential of telekinetic appliances for generating spin.
  7. Should Englands coach have called a time out at 9-6 yesterday?

I'm not going to comment on the specific situation, because honestly I don't have the tactical knowledge, but I don't understand why you would NOT use a time out to perhaps have a chance at saving a game. It's not like you get bonus points for having time outs unused or anything.
  8. Footwork exercises

The very first thing you should do is find out the most efficient technique that keeps you on balance and fast on your feet, and shadow that side to side for a few days. No balls, no racket, no hitting, just move side to side and make it a habit to move.
  9. Serve Accuracy - Target practice

An idea I had is to have someone throw a ball into the air and let it drop, while you throw a ball up, let it bounce and then loop it at the falling ball. It's like shooting skeet, except without the huge target and buckshot! Now that would be a shot.

Emphasis on when you can. I believe in taking any and all >51% chances to end the point outright. The less % my opponent is likely to lose to me in a consistency game, the more likely I am to try to play those percentages and end the point there. I'm not too high level, but people murder me...

I've never understood this mentality of not finishing the point outright when you can. Last time I checked, we don't get style points, do we?
  12. Serve Accuracy - Target practice

Do we get bonus points if we serve short?
  13. Serve Accuracy - Target practice

And here I thought I was sh*t hot being able to place a racket on the table on it's handle, and spin it 180 without dropping it on it's side.
  14. UpSideDownCarl Looping In NYC's Chinatown

What Ilia said on the previous page is important, and I also recommended it. I don't see much a point in a very bent elbow loop without dramatic forearm snap, unless you're generating topspin out of this world with the wrist snap. The Japanese are really good at that. The distance from the...
  15. UpSideDownCarl Looping In NYC's Chinatown

Carl's backswing is not under 90 degrees, so it's correct in theory. Changing your swing to be longer would facilitate a change in all other aspects of one's game. The reason I have a 'short' backswing of 110~ degrees and a long backswing of 160 degrees is because I can and it's what my...
  16. UpSideDownCarl Looping In NYC's Chinatown

If you've ever got too much sidespin on a loop and the ball didn't go where you want, then it's not good. Otherwise, I guess, whatever works. Personally, my wrist geometry doesn't enjoy that... When I was developing my loop early on, and I still do this, I would put a racket on the table with...

Do you not strain your wrist with all that cocking action going on?

Did he just take it and run?
  19. Want hurricane 3 national

This thread is starting to get extremely controversial. joelifigo, prepare for the naysayers, I think they are called the "goon squad" here.

Man, I think you are farther than most people here will ever get. Good job. Now, if a pro could get in here and offer some insight...
