He is Ranked 19 in the under 13 age group at the moment. There are some under 11 tournaments, but it isn't really worth bothering with them. Fred is only entering tournaments at under 13 and cadet age groups this year although he will be entering the National Championships at U11.

He is now 10 1/2. How time flies. This was the 2 of us earlier today. He's looking a little more relaxed and enjoying his new rubbers.

I hope to last a little longer as I am making a comeback in the league next year to play in Fred's team after 2 years of blocking for kids. Hopefully I can quickly work out how to play properly again.

I think things are only going to improve locally and there are interesting things which are looking likely to happen in this area.

This is his current training programme:- Monday - 2 hours with regional squad. Tuesday - Football training, usually followed by a TT league match. If neither is on then 2 hours with regional squad. Wednesday - 2 Hours with Regional Coach Thursday - Rest Friday - 2 hours hitting and playing...

Fred does actually do quite a bit of multiball with the regional coach and plenty of more complicated regular and irregular exercises. I do agree that his forehand could do with a little tuning particularly away from the table.

He gets quicker and I get slower.

Probably better just to stick to an established brand then if you don't want to risk wasting your money, but I look forward to reading your reviews of the Victas blades soon.

As much as anything, it's the way it looks after the cut which says Calibra to me. The sponge doesn't look as porous around the edge on the 3rd picture as a Tenergy sponge. Tenergy sponge is much redder in my experience the one on the picture is orange even taking into account lighting and exposure.

The sponge on the red rubber looks more the colour of Calibra than Tenergy to me personally and I have both here in front of me.

He is mainly focussing on training at the moment. He has entered a few Cadet and U18 events recently, but we hope to enter some U11 and U13 before Christmas.
