Emerald is faster. Think of it as an ebenholz with no nct coating and less harder. Yes, it feels weird for some people but it is a good blade. I prefer the eb v over the emerald.

The thicker sponge allows you to dig the ball deeper resulting to more spin and speed but it also requires skill.

At least choose a carbon arylate or aramid composite instead of having a pure carbon blade if you have the skills. Nowadays, the rubber can compensate with the speed even if you are.just usong an all wood blade.
