Excellent idea-using dumbells.This will provide that weight but no risk of injury(Falling,breaking etc),but the con is that you dont get to hit a ball during this training.

If you got board and no partner-the best is to practice serve and ball placement.This will help a lot and improve your game noticeably.You can practice and master different serves like this,which could make games more interesting and more challenging for the opponent.

Being first doesnt always mean having the best forehand.Tactics,mental strength etc are all important factors

The best forehand will vary on the person deciding. for eg. A chopper will decide who is the best chopper/which chopper has the best forehand etc. at the end of the day, its each persons own opinion.no 1 can ever be right or wrong
